Rivers of Light Dining Package Lookout Thread - NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS

if the park is only open til 7-730 during sept (ill be there 16-23) how will they have the ROL or JB show?

We are all hoping that those hours will be extended and the night time fun will continue. We may not see that until mid August, if at all.
If they don't expand the hours, we can only assume that JB was just a summer show and ROL is not yet ready.
With September being considered the slowest time of year, I can see Disney using September (and possibly October) as a transition month to work out all the bugs for the ROL show and get everything ready for the busy holiday seasons in November-December.
If they do keep a night time show through September, it may be they only offer just one show just before the park closes but looking as sunset in September, it around 7:30pm and if that's the case, it would be too early for a night time show.

We shall see how this all works out.

Since it is still light out well into the evening in September, I can't imagine they wouldn't extend the hours. Even if they don't do ROL or Jungle Book, they've put so much effort and money into the Tree of Life Awakening (which is amazing by the way!) and the night time safari. They have to be open later than 7:30pm to be able to offer the other night time offerings.

So I was able to book a Tiffin ADR for 6:55 Pm Sept 17, and the park show only open till 7:30. I'm guessing that the park hours are expected to be later, otherwise they will have a bunch of diners walking out an hour after the park closes?
It's a common occurrence for Disney to book dining close to park closing. When you are done I've heard they guide you out.

For example, Epcot closes at 9:00 tonight yet I can see reservations available as late as 8:55pm. Even with Illuminations these guests will finish their meal long after park closing.

Personally, I would not consider the option to book dining close to current park closing times as a sign that hours will be extended in the future.

I agree with this post

I'm supposed to see this show on Saturday and I still can't decide if I want to or want to go over to see the SW fireworks instead. I wish it would have been ROL... :sad2:

I haven't seen either but everything I've read recommends SW fireworks over JB. One tip for SW fireworks is to stand in front of the 2 new projection units and off to the left a bit to get the best viewing vantage point.

I am hoping to snag a ROL dining package as well. We changed our reservations to Tusker house with hopes that we can add the dining package if it comes available during our Sept. trip. For our AK day the park hours show closing at 11pm. (Sept. 5) I am hoping this is a good sign!

Sept 5th is Labor day and the unofficial end of summer. If they were just running the Jungle Book show as a filler for Summer so they could at least showcase the other night time things they had already planned for Summer then it might make sense that this would be the last day for the temporary show. I'm going to guess that they will then use the remainder of September to get the ROL show installed if it's ready and make the adjustments they need, which is kind of a bummer for me as I'll be there the second week of the month.

If the date you're going to Animal Kingdom is Sept 5th, that show has already been confirmed as Jungle Book: Alive with Magic and dining plans for that show are already available.

If you are hoping Rivers of Light will be playing Sept 5th I would be very surprised if it was as the Dining Packages are already available and clearly state that they're for the Jungle Book show.

Oh no, I have heard bad reviews about the Jungle Book show. If that is the case, I am not sure I would book the dining package. I did not see this when booking our reservations. Any idea which restaurants are included in this dining package for JBAWM?

Wondering if we can resurrect this thread or start a new one? Looks like ROL should be starting soon.....dining packages to follow? I hope so! I'm on the watch for one in June!
I need one for July. What restaurants do you think will have the dining packages? Hopefully we can get one

Great idea.

We'll be back in May and July. Hoping to finally get to see ROL. Can't believe we are still waiting...feels like Groundhog's day!
OMg I know. Been waiting too long. Went to DW last summer hoping I would see it. Didn't think I would be going again this July. I hope that Pandora and ROL will be open by then. I will be so happy. Finally

They announced Pandora opens end of May so you are half way there. As that was less likely than ROL things look good.

I'm getting ready to book our reservations for September and had completely forgotten to leave room for a 'Rumors of Light' dinner package. Hmmm....back to the drawing board!
