Is it just coincidence that it's only bookable through Labor Day weekend? It seems like, from a crowd level standpoint, just post-Labor Day would make the most sense to make the move to ROL?

Thanks for clarifying that. I must have missed the "some" when I did mine, but i also read it on the DIS. Everything here is true, right? They aren't doing Fantasmic! This trip. Obviously I need to get my facts straight. I was in such a hurry to grab a time, and I had looked for info the night before. They will still be able to use the DDP if they decide to get it.

Hoping these open up more soon. Have noticed that there are less Tusker House reservations for a couple of days we were looking at. Like I couldn't get a time I wanted at 180 days out.

Does anyone know if the Jungle Book show dining package limits what you can order from Tiffins? $67 seems like a steal considering you get an appetizer, entree and dessert. Are you only allowed to order certain items or is the full menu available to you?
Is there anyone that has done the Fantasmic dining package know if the full menu was available? Thanks for any help!

It's been a few years ago since I did the Fantasmic dinner package, but if my memory serves me correct I do believe at Mama Melrose you chose anything from the appetizer and entree menu and they brought out a dessert sampler or a tray of options to chose. I don't remember being able to order any dessert. As for Tiffins; I'll find out just over a week from now when we will be there ourselves.

We be there mid September do watching to see if it gets extended or if the pkg or FP is necessary to see show. If standby remains a viable option we will do that.

I'm wondering if the current Jungle Book is only scheduled until early September as they wait to see what the status is of opening Rivers of Light? If that's the case it's hard to tell when dining packages might be extended too.

I'm preparing myself that we may be 'between' AK shows during our September visit. I can't help but wonder if there will be a shutdown time whenever they switch from Jungle Book to Rivers of Light. Only time will tell......

This is exactly what I'm thinking. It's not likely that Disney will change from Jungle Book to ROL by Sept 5th. If they have announced Jungle Book and put it on the calendars and released dining packages, then it's Jungle Book through Labor Day. But, given that Jungle Book was supposed to be a ROL "light" and they had elements from ROL that were not working, I would guess that it's not going to be a quick transition, once they are ready to change to ROL. They'll need to have a "down" period. How long, it's anyone's guesses. I would guess that if by mid-August they don't have ROL figured out, they'll probably continue with Jungle Book for at least a couple more months. I'm hoping I may be wrong, but I can't imagine they'll be announcing dining packages for Fall anytime soon.

We have just decided on a Dec. trip! My 180 days is next week and I know that the Dining Packages are not released nor do we know if it will be JB or ROL. Is it suggested to make TH reservations and if so, can you 'turn that into' a package? Or would you have to cancel and re-book under the package?

If packages become available you would need to cancel your current reservation and book a new dinner package. Existing reservations cannot be converted.

So I was able to book a Tiffin ADR for 6:55 Pm Sept 17, and the park show only open till 7:30. I'm guessing that the park hours are expected to be later, otherwise they will have a bunch of diners walking out an hour after the park closes?

Yes, park hours will likely be extended.

Sunset is around 7:15 at that time of year so they can hold the dark events much earlier in the evening.

I would be surprised if the hours are extended later than they are. We travel to Disney in September each year and traditionally all the parks close earlier than they do in July and August both due to earlier sunsets and much lower crowds. We find we don't even need park hoppers as our preferred hopping time is evenings and there's not much open to hop to.
