I refuse to support Disney Lakeshore Lodge because it completely DESTROYS the spiritual feng shui of Bay Lake.

First of all, the lake has been emotionally bonded to Wilderness Lodge since 1994. You can’t just drop a new resort in there like it’s an IKEA nightstand and expect the ducks to emotionally adjust.

Second, the walking path is now 17 seconds longer to my theoretical room that I don’t own yet but might buy resale in 2037, and that is unacceptable for my knees, my vibes, and my touring plan spreadsheet.

Third—and this is the big one—the reflections on the water will now be slightly different at sunset, which ruins the exact mental screenshot I’ve been using as my lock screen since 2008.

And don’t get me started on how this will definitely increase boat traffic by 0.3 boats per hour, which means Disney is CLEARLY overdeveloping, despite the fact that I also complain every day that there aren’t enough DVC rooms available.

Hard pass. I’ll stick with Copper Creek… unless Lakeshore Lodge has a better point chart, in which case I’ve always loved it and the theming is actually very tasteful.

I have to admit it sounds like an user I’ve muted…

I've heard a lot of people say that. I'm not sure what the wow factor is for, e.g., BCV as a building. I am sure many people see it, but I don't seem to be one of them.

This made me laugh. I have stayed a few times at BCV for the pool and proximity to Epcot - we've had no view, road noise, tiny balconies not worth sitting on, and it's way the heck back there! And yet - no one
"complains" about any of that. Not to mention the nonexistent counter space in the kitchen and the strange layout with the main bath and all. those. doors. And the "quiet pool" back there? It's quiet because it is a sad, sad little pool with no shade.

You aren't kidding. Once upon a time, many (many!) years ago, I attracted the ire of a few Fort Campers here on IDS. It was a very organized and near-ceaseless response.

What ever did you do??

Not all of the bar seating is at the bar - they have high-top tables behind the bar as well. So you don't have to eat your steak with the bartender watching you

Is it available at breakfast? Is it still the same prix fixe? Can kids sit there?

I'm not sure it happens as often, but it certainly happens---….. "it's way too busy."

We used to go there as our Riviera arrival night dinner (as of 3 years ago it was taking reservations). Tons of good food and super casual and a nice way for the kids to work off some steam.

This sounds so charming…unfortunately we always take flight from LAX and arrive after all DVC properties are dead for the night.

Seriously sometimes I think we are long lost relatives - I thought the same thing. And I have an environmental aversion to using bottled water, and our Owner's Locker doesn't have room for a Brita or other filter (which still is only partially effective). compared to making coffee in our room, Le Petit Cafe is a dream!

I also feel like we would be friends if we lived nearby— I remember thinking years ago we even have the same favorite Avenger looking at your avi (true random story, Chris Evans crashed my 30th birthday party, which is totally unrelated to why I like Cap).

For me, it’s the wow factor of criss crossing it 10x staying at the Swolphin as a child dreaming of staying at a real Disney resort themed to the beach with ugly giant fish.

Ok, sure, true but that’s all made up for by the decent odds of getting a room with horrible grinding elevator noises all day and all night! You heard my friend @kboo people, stay far away from BCV, it’s even worse than RIV!!!

I don't know, maybe. I don't see people throwing shade at Aulani however, and those are towers.

It definitely does not belong in the same category as the VDH/PIT towers. While I personally don’t love the look of BLT or RIV, I do at least view them as architecturally consistent/coherent and would say they belong closer to AUL than the most recent DVC “hey let’s just throw it in the midst of an existing resort and hope nobody cares about harmony” towers.

I don't see the wow factor with the BCV building either. But I do see the wow factor of the BC as a whole, to which BCV is very (possibly too) deferential.
