Rise boarding groups gone at 7am on Tuesday :(

Had the app all ready to go and hit refresh the instant it turned 7am and it said No More Availability 😭
It's a Tuesday morning (11/10/2021). Is this normal?

621197I'm really bummed. We missed our chance at noon yesterday because there was a power outage at the airport so our flight was delayed 2.5 hours.
 
I think you are supposed to start refreshing 1 minute before 7am. That's what I've seen on the forum so far. And every home test I've done I've consistently gotten the blue join queue button

I did try right at 6:59 and again right at 7:00.
I guess we got extremely lucky when we got one in September! Only one of my sons was on the September trip, so I really wanted my other one to be able to ride. I guess we'll try again at 11:59am for the noon opening. Hopefully if we get a boarding group, we'll be called before we have to leave for the airport.

You have to keep refreshing! Keep clicking that button till you see it or it says sold out.
 
Have somebody else’s phone open to the atomic clock so you can count down. By 60 seconds before, be on the “Disneyland Park Virtual queue” tab, the one that now says “our 7am boarding group distribution is complete.” At :59, pull down to refresh. If the blue join button doesn’t appear, do it again. Some people say it’s better to try right at :00.

I really thought Genie would be up and running by our dates, but I guess not. I'm going dedicate time today and tomorrow to going back and reading threads on this and I believe there was one with a video.

Personally I just hate this is the only way to do it... no stand by line option at all. Ugh.

With four days you will probably have multiple opportunities to ride if you want. The noon drop is a little easier but set an alarm so you don’t forget. I did recently get Webslingers while riding Star Tours

Same, we are just going one day. If we don't get it I'll be sad even thought I know it will be there next time I go.
 
Make sure your phone clock is accurate. My new now old phone was off by a few seconds.

Then download the Atomic Clock App and click the Calendar watch on the top right to open up the pop up widget which helps with the countdown.

I was used to the old way and had gotten a boarding group, every time. Then they changed it slightly with the refresh button in September, and I had missed it twice. I would press the refresh button at 7:00 on the dot, and it always took to long to refresh, so by the time I got the join group button it was too late even if it had been less than a second.

On my last try, I hit refresh repeatedly starting at 6:59:50 and was able to get a boarding group.
 
Sorry :( you’ll have a chance at noon, we were there on Sunday and got a noon group that then let us in by 4, out by 4:45.

Edit: have more than one person in the group try to get it. It’s always my wife and I trying at the same time. The loser gets an error. (I get more errors than her)

We’ve never missed a group when we try for one.
 
Have multiple people try. I got Rise all 5 times and WEB all 3 times (it changed to standby during the week) I tried last week by bribing my family members to try from home and we repeatedly hit refresh starting before 7/12.

My son & I both tried for the noon boarding group. Our phones had different times by about 2 minutes - maybe that's why I was "late" this morning. Anyway, he got us a boarding group! We were both hitting refresh constantly, starting at 11:59. Then he got it and my phone said "connection error." So try to have more than one phone working on it if you can.

People all around us started cheering right at noon when they got theirs :)

For those who are really stressed about this, you honestly don’t need to be. The system has been simplified. Just have as many people trying as possible and you’ll be fine. Make sure your tickets are linked. A few minutes before 7 or 12 open the app and click join virtual queue then click confirm your party. Make sure everyone is selected. And then a few seconds before 7 or 12 repeatedly tap on refresh as fast as you can. It’ll turn into a blue virtual queue button. Don’t worry about when it changes to that button, just keep tapping until you have a group or an error message (which you’ll likely get if you have lots of people trying, as only one person will actually get the group for everyone). I did this 8 times last week and never had a single problem.
 
In addition to all the other very good advice. The app has caching problems as well. I would make sure your force close and restart the app before trying for a boarding group. If you haven’t done than since you’re last attempt it might be holding on to an older state.

The caching problem has been a pain especially for mobile order. I can get the push notification for an order being ready without any problem (don’t want to get too technical but they work differently from the app) but when I open the app it says there are none and I have to either go back and forth a few times or force close and reopen to see my mobile order.
 
CONSTANTLY restarting that broken app. It’s embarrassing that such a large company has such a broken app. It’s also hilarious that such a large company has such a broken app that they keep funneling more and more key park functionality into.

Disney needs to stop trying to make fetch happen.
 
I wonder how much it is that the app is broken and how much it is that the phones themselves can't handle the app.
The app is very much broken. I’m on an iPhone12 and my husband in on an Android. We stay up to date with updates.
In July they decided to move the dev team from CA to FL and a lot of people quit since they didn’t want to *relocate. There are still a lot of job openings for iOS and Android dev on their site for the Parks division. We’re in the SW industry and Disney has a bad rep after laying off a bunch of devs but forced them to train their replacements in order to get the “extra” severance benefits.
