Rip, Ride, Rockit!

Well the coaster was running at full speed today for testing. The lift is taking 16-18 seconds and the coaster speed for the rest of the ride is approaching 65 MPH.

Team members who will be working at the ride were seen wearing their new outfits at "wardrobe" today. It won't be long now.

Does anyone know at what part does the train reach 65mph? I have looked at different videos on youtube and it seems like after the triple clef it gradually keeps on getting faster and faster. The first drop doesn't seem to be hitting anywhere near 65mph.

It would have to be towards the beginning because the laws of physics say a coaster will get progressively slower, not faster, as it runs through the track unless it has a second lift hill.

Whew. Thanks :goodvibes

As you can tell by the ole ticker...leavin' soon ;)

Watching them testing it last night. This thing has to be seen to be believed. Everyone stopped to watch the test, my heart was in my mouth! That first climb and drop is something else!

Have any bodies been in it for the testing yet?

DH was saying yesterday that he would be the perfect "test dummy." He was at SeaWorld and was royally pissed that it was the Kraken train right in front of his that got stuck on the lift hill and necessitated walking the guests off. He was already loaded in the next train, and everyone had to get off and leave the station. He watched them walk the people down one at a time; must have been a blown lift hill motor. And he thought how much fun it would be to be one of them being walked down (technically I'd like it too, but not on a coaster with such an "open" hill).

Can you please post alink or is it where you sign in for AP holders? I'm at work and do not have my pass to login. We are going to be there all that week for 8 days and want to register. :thumbsup2

Its on the passholder site which has been going down and back up for the last 2 hours... So far I havent seen the link work to reserve a spot.

After clicking the link from Uni site - We've recently redesigned our site, and the link you are looking for has changed. You will be redirected to the homepage in 10 seconds, or you can click here.

I'll miss it too since I work during the week!

I figured Universal would do something like this and it really pisses me off! This is a MAJOR attaction and they have apparently decided to do another screwed up preview. I don't know who's running the show over there but I don't see why they couldn't do an evening preview (after the park closed) for those of us who work during the day. I thought the passholder preview for RoTM was outstanding and very well organized but I guess who ever planned that event doesn't work there anymore and we're left with people who insist on previewing rides during the day...during the week! Pitiful! :sad2:
