Rip, Ride, Rockit!

I'll miss it too since I work during the week!

I figured Universal would do something like this and it really pisses me off! This is a MAJOR attaction and they have apparently decided to do another screwed up preview. I don't know who's running the show over there but I don't see why they couldn't do an evening preview (after the park closed) for those of us who work during the day. I thought the passholder preview for RoTM was outstanding and very well organized but I guess who ever planned that event doesn't work there anymore and we're left with people who insist on previewing rides during the day...during the week! Pitiful!

Do you think the ride will be open to the public the rest of the day? We were planning on going on the 3rd but now I am thinking if we go on the 8th, we would have a better chance. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I remember pre-registering for the AP area at Mardi Gras. Not sure why we had to do that either.

Yea I don't understand that unless they have more APs then they have space to go to the event.

I agree. I was not too happy seeing it during the week. I was planning on switching shifts and working night possibly to go but I don't think I will do that.

They won't turn you away if you don't pre-register. They had the same thing for the Mummy AP preview. It was 2 nights and you had to register and tell them what night you were attending. I registered for the first night and came. Then decided to show up the second night and was still let in with no problem at all.

I think they like people to RSVP so they can get a head count. They use that count to determine how many gifts they might need and to estimate the crowd level for staffing purposes.

I just got a new favorite coaster today (Sheikra...even better than Manta). I can't wait to see where Rip Ride Rockit fits in now.

Sheikra is bad to the bone since they took the floor out!!
It was and still is one of the biggest drops and they took it a step further,FLOORLESS,never again for me!!!!

This afternoon during a test run of Rockit, one of the cars failed to crest the "Trebel Clef" section and valleyed just past the loop. It was very windy at the time, but this may cause even more delays.

When it did this, it teeter tottered back and forth between the loop and the clef for about 10 minutes before stopping just to the right of the concert stage.

There is no easy way to recover the train from a spot like that, so it'll have to be removed by taking it off the track there.

I actually remember that time. I can't really go into details but suffice it to say that things changed for the next AP HHN event when upper management became aware of that situation.

That`s not good!!! Still you want it to happen while testing and not when folks are on it I suppose!

ARGH! I'm still hoping it's open while we're there. I Love coasters!! I read quite a few pages of this (but I'm at work so...) and saw someone said that it was okay they couldn't use the fotl for this. Is that a forever thing or just when it first opens? Does anyone know for sure? Just curious. If it's open and the line is crazy long, I'll just wait till next time. Lol

We were at Universal last week, and the rip ride rocket looked awesome! We saw it running empty a few times, and wished we could hop on. We rode Manta at SeaWorld and it was awesome! Where is the Sheirkra ride at (I probably spelled it wrong) hey barb - are you the same one that runs the disneycruiser website? I used to live on those boards before our Disney Cruises.....loved all the info!

Yes, I am the one with the unnameable website. SheiKra is over at Busch Gardens, a little more than an hour's drive away. We got more than we bargained for when we visited...got rained out, and then some idiot threw a kitten in I-4 right in front of us! Thankfully it had a happy ending. OMG the kitten thing is soooo sad!! I can't believe people do things like that!!! I hope that delay thing about the RRR was just rumor, cause I can't wait to ride this sucker in a few weeks!!
