Rip, Ride, Rockit!

 That`s not good!!! Still you want it to happen while testing and not when folks are on it I suppose!
I dunno, DH and I are pretty demented. He was just one train behind a train on Kraken that got stuck on the lift the other day and the people had to be walked down...and he was miffed that he wasn't on that one.

Then we got stuck on SheiKra in a monsoon (it e-stopped on the brake run at the crest of the second big drop). We were out there like 10 minutes in the storm before they got it started again, and I kept eyeing the stairs and wondering what it would be like to get walked down. I have my limits tho'...that staircase is a regular type. I'd be scared to death of one on a metal coaster that goes down the actual lift because it would be too "open." I wonder how they'd get people off RRR if it valleyed there with riders...it would be interesting.

My favorite coaster insanity was when the Demon at Six Flags Great America literally stopped upside down in one of the loops (I think one of the wheel carriages broke down and it locked). They got 'em off with a cherry picker after like 45 minutes. I can't even imagine the head rush.

Don't worry, they literally just released a promo video and I don't think they would have if there was another big delay. I posted it here: http://bit.ly/13gK1h

Yes, I am the one with the unnameable website. SheiKra is over at Busch Gardens, a little more than an hour's drive away. We got more than we bargained for when we visited...got rained out, and then some idiot threw a kitten in I-4 right in front of us! Thankfully it had a happy ending. I posted the story and photos on my blog: http://celebrationfl.blogspot.com/2009/06/june-is-adopt-cat-monthwhether-you-want.html
(The kitten's name is now SheiKra of course.)

I want to commend you for doing what you did for that kitty. That is truely awesome and it sure is lucky that you happened along when you did!! What a fitting name, too! :thumbsup2

No commendation necessary...my gut instinct totally took over! I'm a major animal lover, so when I realized that it was a kitten there was no question of not stopping. I was just terrified that he was going to get splattered right in front of my eyes.

I know this has probably been asked over and over but i dont have time to go through all the posts =(
Has an opening date been released? is it likely to be open before august 10th?

Ok....well how about buying you a drink before HHN on 10/22 instead? That IS an off peak night. ;)

A drink...mmmm, sounds great, especially since my birthday is the day before!

SheiKra is semi-famous now. He's on the Busch Gardens Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Busch-Gardens-Tampa-Bay/68181225238

And my wife's BD is two days after! Sounds like a plan! And just so we are clear...I look like this...

I actually was there in the park that day when that happened!!

We were in line for the ride when it happened.
We got out of line and watched the rescue of the riders trapped in the Demon.

can NOT wait for this!! I actually never heard about it to i saw this thread haha and i'm a HUGE coaster fan haha shows how much i pay attention :rolleyes1

so excited to go to universal during my vaca now :woohoo:

We were at Universal this past Friday - Sunday. On Friday the driver of our boat to the park said the coaster was opening "next week". Over the next two days their were cranes by it, sometimes one, sometimes two and we would see people up there. On Saturday the Orlando paper had a front page article about the problems with the delays of it, and they were not saying when it was going to open. When we left on Sunday they were saying that it was going to open up "mid-July".

On another note, we were luckily there when Natasha Bedingfield (sp?) had her free concert -- it was really great.

Ok so when is it really gonna open ;) Not that it matters to me. I will be there in Aug but my doc just informed my last Thursday that even if it is open, I will not be able to ride it :sad2: I had Rotator Cuff surgery on June 11and we thought by Aug 9-16th that I would be healed enough for coasters...well once he opened me up, my tear was much larger than he expected so no coasters (or any rides that will jog me) for some time for me....:sad2: I figure maybe by my HHN trip.. I should be able to go on some.... My DD's will be able to go on it in Aug (if opened) and I can watch :upsidedow Oh well...

They where still running tests on it last night , looked really cool with the light in the dark.

OUCH and double OUCH.

i had both shoulders done for the rotator cuff surgery.
i feel your pain.

doc is right.
don't even think of doing a coaster until you are completely healed.
are you still in the strap that attaches your arm by the wrist to your waist?
if you had tendons worked on with your surgery, you need to keep that arm calm and not use it until strength returns.

i had bone taken out also with my cuff surgery.
PT i had was for 6 months.....

you don't want to mess around and have the surgery twice..

you can be the official picture taker of your family as they go on the rides.
