Just to answer my own question and let others know ...

I called Universal today (not that this is the end all) and was told that while the ride doesn't accept express passes atm it is definitely coming in the future.

I would hope so. My next trip is in the begining of December and hope it's active then.

Same, we are going to HHN on October 17th with a RIP Tour scheduled at 7. So by the time the tour is over we should have 3 hours to use our passes over and over.

We were also hoping the offer another Unlimited Express VIP Pass during October so we can get that as well.

The VIP Express tickets already include your park admission and do not extend to HHN...you will need a separate ticket for HHN as well as Express pass...you can not use any tickets for the daytime at night for HHN.

I am unaware of any unlimited Express pass for HHN.

if you take the RIP Tour during HHN, your credentials from the tour will allow you to use it as an express pass for the regular attractions, after your tour.

I don't know for sure if it is unlimited.

When I did the RIP tour some years back in 06, it was different but rules have changed in the past 3 years.

came back to edit so not to have conflicting statements for 09 tour policies.

No no...I was talking about using the daytime VIP tickets which include unlimited express for HHN. I don't know how the tours yall take work but I have never heard of an unlimited EP for HHN no matter what kind of ticket/tour you have. The PP had mentioned the time after the RIP tour to use the passes over and over and there is no unlimited EP for HHN and the daytime VIP tickets do not extend the unlimited EP.

When we did RIP two years ago, they didn't say anything about Express after the tour one way or another. We went to three houses with our tour necklaces after we were done; one told us to get lost, one let us in Express, and one let us in the VIP entrance. Then we ran out of time so I have no idea what the official policy was.

No, I wasn't expecting express tickets that could be used at both events. I was simply saying that during the day when we are are US or IOA we wanted the VIP Express ticket, during HHN (the day we have the RIP tour) we would use the tour credentials after to ride.

Peak Non-Private Tours begin at 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, or 9:00 PM, and last approximately four (4) hours. Tour groups consist of up to twelve (12) guests*. Once your tour ends, your R.I.P. Tour credentials can be used for Universal Express® access to our regular attractions.

So according to the HHN 2009 website, it says you can use it for regular attractions only but does not set a limit. I will call tonight or tomorrow morning to confirm this.

Really, we just wanted to use the RIP credentials for the new roller coaster to ride as many times as we want since the lines for it suck atm.

Just hoping that express is available for it by the time we go.

Edit: Just called to confirm, you can use the RIP credentials for regular attractions only, nothing directly associated with HHN. It works just like a regular express pass with the exception that it has unlimited uses.

How do you access these bonus tracks?:confused3

Does anyone know if the Back to the Future theme works?? I would love to listen to that while I'm on it :goodvibes I hope I'll be able to get on RRR next week when I'm there, not long to go now :cool1:

Just got back from Universal. I got to ride RRR once, and was in line 3 times. I was lucky enough to get single rider line, when it opened. The first time it broke down, when I was very close. It ended up being down the rest of the day, this was on Wednesday. Thursday, I went to the islands, but when I saw that RRR was running (at like 11, but it seemed like it was running for awhile), I went over to the studios. I waited a few minutes, and single rider opened, and I got right on the ride. I later tried again, but broke down again (some riders were actually stuck on the brake run, one of the final ones, before you do the last drop into the station). I ended up buying the DVD and picture package, the DVD is not worth it, imo. It is 30 seconds of ride footage, and 5 minutes of cheesy-editing effects. It also includes the birds-eye-view, which is the same one on youtube by universal, I thought it would have at least a real recording, not a computer generate one. My tip is to wait for single rider to open, then you won't have to wait 2+ hours.

thanks for the heads up.

in 06, we were allowed to use the rip credentials for the houses.
in 07, it was a hit or miss but allowed for the rides.

i'm glad you called and clarified it for us.

for me, i booked the private tour and it gets over at 2:00 am.

no need for our group for what the shorter tour groups will be allowed on regular attractions.

Man, I would have been extremely upset having waited not once but twice. I am surprised they didn't offer return passes or something. I would be right there at customer service.

All the same, it's kind of a scary thought for the ride to be breaking down so much. I wouldn't figure it would open at all to the public till it was almost completely bug free.

No problem

Yeah, I was going to do the later tour but figured since we are actually going twice, I wanted to enjoy the perks of the RIP after the tour. Hopefully RRR will be allowing express by that time cause we just might spam ride it for a good chunk of the night till we get sick.

Well I wasn't that mad, because I had gotten on single rider, and I hadn't been waiting that long. Now if I had been waiting for the 2 hours.. different story.

What I really don't like is how Universal is putting so many billboards up saying "Now Open". I will be back in a few weeks anyway, so it didn't really bother me when it broke down. But for the people who don't go to Universal that often... well I would be furious.

Yeah, we are one of those that don't go often. So I would rather not spend what little time we have waiting in endless rides only to have them break down. Everyday we are going we plan to have express passes.

I suggest checking in from time to time and seeing if single-rider has recently opened. That way if it does break down, then you have only wasted a half hour or so.

But if you don't make it, well, I still prefer Mummy and Hulk

Yeah..it's not bad for those of us who live in the area but I would be upset too if I had to travel a long way and it broke down. Like I stated earlier in this thread I believe...I think Universal jumped the gun on opening the HR3 so soon after technical rehearsals...there still too many bugs left to work out. IMHO...it's just not ready to open right now....but that's me. :rolleyes1
