I just read on another article that the loading dock is one of the moving belts; how does that work? How do they make sure everyone is locked in if the built/cars don't stop moving?

(I love coasters, but I'm a bit paranoid about safety. So, thanks in advance for any explanation!)

They aren't using the moving belt yet, and I suspect it will be a long time before they ever do. Seems like it would be a nightmare for people with mobility impairments.

We rode the coaster once tonight...bailed out of the line the second time because it shut down due to weather (for the nth time that day) and all the smokers had to whip out the cigs and nearly choke me to death. They don't take too kindly to being asked to put 'em out when they're already pissed about waiting 90 mins. and then having the ride break down. The first time, we had a three hour wait, but it didn't break down till we were up in the station so they couldn't really light up there in front of the Team Members.

We were getting ready to go to the parks on Wednesday and had the TV on when a commercial announced that RRR was now open! Well we put it into high gear and got there when the park opened - which we had been doing to avoid the crowds. My son and hubby ran to RRR only to find that they were planning to open at 10 am but made no promises and let us know that at anytime the ride could be shut down. My son was debating whether to stay in line or not and I told him that I felt this would be his best chance and he should hang tight. Hubby and I went off to go to Shrek and by time we were finished Anthony was just getting off the ride! He said it was awsome, although he didn't get to pick a song - said it wasn't working. They were also doing filming that day in front of the ride. Very exciting to be there on the first "official" opening day.

We had also been there on Sunday the 16th when they were doing technical runs but he didn't want to wait the 2 hrs. Can't say I blame him.

Tonight was a big fiasco. When we arrived, it was shut down and we were told the wait had been three hours. It never reopened before park closing, so all the poor devils who had waited in line forever had to leave. We had come just to ride R3, but we ended up having a nice dinner at Marley's instead. In the case of this coaster, I consider the term "officially open" to be used very loosely.

Someone upthread asked about Express Passes. We were at the Studios yesterday (Friday) and were told they are not doing Express or single rider lines as they would be swamped. We were told they would be opening the ride at 11:00am and there were mobs of people waiting.

We were told the wait Thursday was 3 hours so we decided not to attempt it.

We are still here a few more days, so we'll see...

I got to ride again today. I had the Beastie Boys' Sabotage playing. It synced well and I took the time to focus on the ride. I got lots of airtime (I was in the back) and really enjoyed the ride.

The problem I have with the ride is the inconsistency of the single riders line. It's almost never open, and those who get in the line seem to only wait 20-30 mins.

Was there yesterday and around 5 or so as I was leaving IOA, I saw a train stuck on the lift hill. I'm not sure if that was part of the fiasco you were talking about or not. I don't know how long it was stuck for but I never saw it move again.

I had a pretty crappy experience yesterday morning.

I'm going to Florida in 10 days and will probably be in Universal aroun the 9th or 10th of September, so I hope it's working a bit more reliably by then! Doubt it though I was hoping the single rider line would be up and running properly.

That's what irked me the most on Saturday. I was in line for Rockit before it opened and ended up waiting by myself in line for four hours. As soon as I got to the top of the loading station, they opened the single riders line.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the constant updates. We were there last week and went straight to the ride. TMs were outside saying we were free to line up but they weren't going to try to open until 10:00am. I actually only saw it in operation a couple of times, but there were lots of thunderstorms last week.

We renewed our APs and plan to try again in October.

Does the express pass work for this ride?

We were thinking about going to US on a Friday with an express pass and getting a stay and scream pass plus VIP (which gives you unlimited rides after the tour).

Wasn't sure if either passes included this ride. If so, we around going to be hanging around it all night long!

There is no express for the ride currently. I overheard a CM telling another guest that there will never be express on the ride, but from the ride entrance there are three lines, so it looks like they built it with express in mind.

We got to ride it on Saturday, but we did get stranded 200ft up when it stopped, and it took 10 mins to get us going again.

Ouch, I hope what the CM said wasn't true. The only reason I am bothering with US at all is because of this ride.

If express doesn't work by our trip I might have to replan it. Drop out US and switch HHN from Friday to a Sun-Thursday. We will still keep the RIP tour but the only reason we wanted the tour on a Friday was because of the two extra hours with unlimited express passes.
