Rip, Ride, Rockit!

What plays if you don't make an easter egg selection?
The same as if you don't do anything--a track is randomly selected for you.

From what I've read, you press down on the R3 logo for 5 seconds and then a screen pops up that you can enter a numerical code.
Just adding to this: The Rockit logo only appears on the Genre Select screen. If you see a screen with songs on it, press the back button at the top of the screen.

Has anyone here been successful at getting an Easter egg song played? I would love to hear Freebird when I ride on Friday...hopefully with Express!

Just so you know....the Freebird that is used on R3 is only the guitar parts. There are no vocals.

Awesome that it is starting!!! It should now be up and running with express lines when we visit this coming Mardi Gras!!! Can't wait!!!

Do they film you while on the ride? if so anyone got their footage? x

Yes, they film you, and yes, we bought it. Most of it is actually stock footage, with three personal sequences of you. The song for the video will be the one of the person whose face you touch when you zoom in while looking at the photo/video. They also include a great POV on the DVD.

I rode it yesterday afternoon after a 75 minute wait. Only two cars were running. The keypad selector and the music were both out of order on my car. I had to settle for hearing ZZ Top from the seat next to me.

The Good:

Great view, good drops, good music (what I could hear of it), plenty of misting fans in the line, plenty of variety to the ride portions, can't wait to see it running at night.

The Bad:

Queue was too loud over a long wait (poor team member directing traffic on the platform was hoarse from trying to be heard over the noise), banged my head multiple times on one portion of the ride, the ride itself was a bit of a letdown.

Overall, it was decent, but Goliath at Six Flags over Georgia is a FAR SUPERIOR example of a large coaster. It has incredible air time and is the closest thing to flying I have ever experienced.

As posted elsewhere, Universal is treating this as a fully opened ride. The billboards have been updated to say Now Open. The ride is listed on directions boards and wait time lists in the park.

Have you uplaoded this footage anywhere? i would love to see? i have looked on you tube and cant find anything :(

I wanted to upload it, but they don't have the files put on the DVD in a way that allows me to do it.

A word about Uni treating R3 as "open." They're not really because there is still no Express (and still very sporadic single riders). I actually don't see any difference between now and the soft opening, other than the new sign. It was on the time board before...that's how DH and I could tell when it was open (via the mobile time board app) during the softs.

Thanks for the upload!!! But it seems crazy that they spend all that money on having video on all the seats to only actually use 10-15 seconds worth. Surely as an extra "bonus chapter" on the disc, they should allow you to see the whole video of you on the ride.

Hi,

Are they letting guests staying at a Universal Resort use their fast pass?

Thanks,:thumbsup2

inkkognito - Thanks for your great review and for sharing your personalised DVD footage. :thumbsup2

I have to agree with Mad Hattered though - I would have expected to see more of your own experience on the ride and not so much of the track and funky effects. :upsidedow

Your ride video is 3.5 minutes long, is the ride itself that long?

the ride video itself is actually 6 minutes long, it actually goes through the station and back up the lift hill (like that is going happen in real life, maybe if Busch Gardens and the entire train had platinum passes it could happen)

and at the end the entire list of songs, plus credits to the design team.

the ride itself is around 90 seconds

Thanks for the upload inkkognito, very disappointed that you can't see more of yourself on the rude

Rip-off. $35 bucks for a generic vid that is supposed to be "custom". Why am I not surprised?
