Rides, Slides, Eats & Meets Oct DISmeet Trip. 5/6-Ch 14 Closing Thoughts

Good grief, this TR is still going?!?! That means I have work to do then, to catch up. Let's see, I've been gone for what, 3 1/2 months so I probably have only 2 updates to catch up on! Yay!;) That's not so bad.

Just quickly skimmed and saw that Matthew was deployed! I hope he's doing well!:) Was that hard for you and Ali? I'd be a total train wreck if it were me, but then again I have a little more estrogen than you. I think...:confused3

Ugh, more skimming just now and I see mention of you in speedo at Typhoon Lagoon?!?! Oh honey, say it ain't so!:scared: That is not a good look for any man. Just so ya know for the future.:thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: SHE IS DEFINITELY BACK!!!! I love it.

Hi Marv! Your 50's lunch looks like it turned out to be so much fun!:cool1: It's great when you get to sit by a fun group of people! That's funny Drew wanted to be in the corner. Did he enjoy the experience?
When is your next trip again? I know that AP is burning a hole in your pocket!

Chapter 8 – Epcot Morning and Hidden Mickey’s

Epcot was the destination this morning. I planned to get up early and head out alone for rope drop since nobody expressed an interest to join me. But when I got up and got started, Andrew woke up and decided he wanted to go too, so I told him to hurry and get ready and I would wait for him. Our goal together would be to enjoy some rides, and see how many more Hidden Mickeys we could find.

After waiting on Andrew to get ready, we were running a little bit behind, but I was happy to have someone heading to the park with me. Luckily staying at OKW it is a short bus ride to Epcot and we were soon there, only missing rope drop by a short amount of time. Even so, the crowd levels for Epcot were supposed to be rather low this day, at least early in the morning.

We headed straight to Soarin’ collecting a couple of FPs before jumping in the Standby line, which only showed a 20 minute wait, but really only took about 10. After we soared over California we headed across the park to catch Test Track and Mission Space. As we headed towards Test Track this is an example of the crowd sharing the park with us this morning.

2002.jpg

As you can see, there wasn’t a whole lot of reason to be in a hurry. When we arrived at Test Track the wait time was only 5 minutes, so we decided to go ahead and ride.

2001.jpg

We quickly made it through the preshow, and were through the doors and into the loading area. This is how close we got when we reached the end of the line.

2003.jpg

As I said, our goal this day was searching for Hidden Mickeys. See if you can locate the one in this next picture before moving down for a closer view below............ popcorn::

2005.jpg

For those who didn't spot it, it was on the open door to the gas tank, which you have to see quickly since the car door soon blocks your view.
2006.jpg

As you head out from the ride, there are other HMs to be found. Here is a set of lockers along the way with another one that most people never notice.
2007.jpg

After Test Track, we headed over to Mission Space. As you can see, the crowds are still fairly light.........
2008.jpg

We got in the line for the Orange team and as we are working our way through the queue, we spotted this HM. It isn't really noticeable until the picture of the planet on the screen changes to this "infrared" view, which doesn't last very long. It is a little difficult to see in this picture, but it is at the bottom center of the planet.

After our safe and uneventful excursion to Mars, we headed into the gift shop and found these rather obvious HMs on the wall.......

2011.jpg

And this really cool one on the ceiling.........
2012.jpg

We headed back across the park and decided to make a stop in Mouse Gears since Andrew had a shirt he was wanting and it had been hard to find anywhere other than at DHS in the gift shop for Star Tours. We didn't have any luck locating the shirt, but we did find these

On the way out the door we passed through the section where they have lots of hats. Since my wonderful DISfriend (KatMark) Kathy's husband Mark always poses with different hats on, we had to pay tribute to him and take an opportunity to give them a shout out.........:wave2:

Andrew has gotten used to this activity and had to get in on the act.

pirate: rrrrrrrrr......................
2017.jpg

A tribute to Jenbear and also my new friend from earlier in the trip, Stitch!
2018.jpg

And of course no tribute wood be complete without a salute to someone I love picking on around here, my great DISfriend Rosie.........
2019.jpg

Sorry Rosie, no spoon this time!!! :rolleyes1

Just being a little Goofy! (obviously my ALTER ego.........)
2020.jpg

We headed out of Mouse Gears and I took the opportunity to get another picture. I love the fountains in Epcot.
2022.jpg

I had a DISmeet in the works, and was texting for updates so we could meet up, but we still had a little time. Where would Drew and I head next?????

Good that Andrew got up with you. Always nice when you have company for rope drop. Oh wait - you actually missed rope drop. I guess you will try to blame Andrew for this. I am wise to this...... :scratchin

Dude, don't buy that book!!! You won't believe it when it tells you that a sticker on the front of a locker is INDEED a Hidden Mickey.............. :rotfl:

Rope drop and low crowds? Perfect? Why wouldn't you want to get up for that? :confused3

Man, you guys are good. I've never spotted most of these.

you can just buy it for me.:thumbsup2

im sure they say the statue of mickey and walt in the hub of MK is a hidden mickey too. lol

I thought the same thing as Dan (Oh my gosh! What is happening?) when I went through the update -- a sticker with Mickey on it is not a "hidden" mickey, it's an overt Mickey. :confused3 The rest of 'em were good.

And yeah, you totally dissed our German friends. :sad2: What're you trying to do, start an international incident?

:stir:

thats just the tip of the ice burg my friend. ::yes::

Drew loves the attention! Not sure where he gets that from...... :rolleyes1

That particular AP expired last New Years. Fortunately there was another trip that came after that I plan to eventually include in this TR.

No current trips in the works.......... :guilty:

Man, you guys are good. I've never spotted most of these.
We just walked around and Wham-mo, there they were!!! :rolleyes1
Looking forward to more Hidden Mickeys...these are pretty easy to spot when you do all the hard work for us. :thumbsup2
Yep, that makes it a whole lot easier....... Lots more yet to come!!! :yay:
Great update! I am a little bit dissappointed that there was not tribute to your German friends with the mouse ears!?!?!?
Okay, I have pondered this long enough. I thought about lying and saying they were out of them at the time, or making the excuse that I did make the tribute to my German friends, but the picture was too blurry, but I know you are one smart cookie Magdalene, so I just have to admit I really screwed that one up!!! :guilty: I really hope my favorite German sisters will forgive me!!! :flower3: (BTW, does it help in Germany to throw yourself on the mercy of the court???) :worship:

I guess my only redemption is that if I ever get around to finishing this part of my TR I will then move into the next phase of my AP usage and pay suitable tribute to you two sweet, beautiful ladies that I made a special trip back to Disney just to meet!!! :goodvibes

I love this report,it's so fun!!! I just registered on this site yesterday but I do frequent a different board.I'm so glad I did theres a whole bunch of TR's top get me through the next 47 days before my trip, can't wait to read more!!!
:welcome: cheekypoppins!!! Great to have you along. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Hope I can pick up the pace here and keep you at least semi-entertained until your trip rolls around!!!
you can just buy it for me.:thumbsup2

im sure they say the statue of mickey and walt in the hub of MK is a hidden mickey too. lol
Maybe, but I already knew where to find THAT one!!!
Uh oh, someone's in trouble...
Think the sucking up helped??? :confused3
Nice update! Love the Hidden Mickeys, and the hats. :thumbsup2
:welcome: Darla!!!! Great to have you here........and thanks for reading along!

So you're saying you saw that one before I posted it????? :rolleyes1
And yeah, you totally dissed our German friends. :sad2: What're you trying to do, start an international incident? :stir:
 :scared:

I would call this just being natural. ;)

Fun update; can't wait to hear about the rest of the morning.

Kathy, I'm guessing that as far as Mr. Schultz is concerned, he still "knows nuh-think!!!" :rotfl:

Being natural huh??? :(

Fun update; can't wait to hear about the rest of the morning.
