Ride Swap

So my son is 2, if we want to ride the big rides we are going to have to swap riders. Do you need to fast pass both adults and switch. Or can just one of us get the fast pass, and they can get the ride swap pass for the other? (if that makes sense)

You can do that. We will get 1 FP for BTMR and rider swap it. The other adult get 1 FP for Splash mountain and rider swap it. That way we can better utilize our FP's. You can really get 6 attractions out of your 3 FP's. This my be frowned upon but riding by yourself is often times not much fun.

Yes - if it's two of you and a child best use is for one of you to get a FP for one ride you want to use the swap on and the other to get a FP for a different ride you want to use it on (if your child was old enough for a band but not tall enough for the ride many will also get a 3rd FP using the child's band and then swap bands).

Remember that for some rides there are single rider lines so if there are only two of you (i.e. you'll be using the swap pass alone and not with 1 or 2 others) best to use them on rides that don't have the single rider option.

And obviously you can do this with each of your three FP (for up to 6 rides) but I assume you'll probably use a few for some rides your son can join you on.

Well, I was thinking id fp the barnstormer for just me. That way my son and I can ride. Then fp dh to space mountain, he gets the ride swap and we can both ride, letting us have 1 more fp for the 2 of us. Is this a good idea. I just freaked out and changed all my fp back to having us both on each.

That would work, and probably better off since all 3 of you probably can't fit in Barnstormer.

We would have to ride by ourselves, since there is just the 3 of us, and DS is only 2 and only 34 1/2 inches.

how do i find out which ones have single rider lines?

Is their always the option for rider switch? Or do you always need to have the ride FP'ed? We are going with a larger group (10) and one of them is 16 month so on some of the height limited rides Switch would be our only option. And I dont want to abuse the FP but I like the "trick" some have mentioned above.

Correction: TSMM doesn't have SR line. It's TT at Epcot, RnR at DHS and EE at AK. I've read on these boards that SR at RnR doesn't move very fast, however. But since the Rider Swap pass works like a FP that would be irrelevant to you.

And I do not consider using Rider Swap to get 6 FP an abuse of the system.

Oh I don't want to do that lol. I just wanted to do the one. It's the only day it would work to be able to do that. But I don't want to abuse it either. This is my first trip in 20 years. I know nothing about this stuff.

You'd actually have 2 FP each left to use.

I don't know why it would be frowned upon. It's not a trick or gaming the system in any way. It is using the rider switch pass as it's intended. Only 1 person needs a fp+ to get the rider switch pass. The pass is good for up to 3 people. It would make no sense to require the 2nd rider to have a fp+.

We get a rider switch pass on any ride we're entitled to get one and use it to our best advantage. There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing so.

You can rider swap standby as well. It is for anytime someone has to wait for the rider to watch those too short to ride with the others.

You bet there's not! We plan on using it to our best advantage as well.

So I freaked out and changed my fast passes. Now I think I want to change them so we can do the ride swap options. What I want to do is for only one day, I am not worried about the other days. I want to change the Barnstormer to just my son and I. And then Fast Pass Space Mountain for DH, so we can ride swap. That would essentially give us one more fast pass each, I guess? I don't feel we both need to ride the barnstormer.

But I am so indifferent, because what if DS really really loves it, and then wants to ride it twice. In that case I would fast pass the barnstormer for both of us, and then do Space mountain for just DH. Which would now give me one open one I guess? And then I could fast pass Splash mountain or SDMT (Which is not really available on my day).

My concern is we are going with a group of friends. they have their fast pass for the same time we do (Not sure how we got so lucky) They have 2 adults and 2 children that would be riding as well (with one that could not). They are going to ride swap as well. If we decide not to ride swap, could we ride together, say 3 and 3? or do they just put you in whenever? If we do the ride swap, I wouldn't even remotely be able to try and ride with them, right? I am sorry if this is confusing.
