We went to our friends house yesterday - this is the couple we were planning on going WDW with next February - well they dropped a bomb - they are expecting! Which in and of itself is wonderful wonderful news but means the WDW trip is off as Jackie would be 9months pregnant.

So now I have to weasle DH into going anyway! How I don't know but I will figure out a way!

CynJ and Bernie - I had sliced fresh strawberries with a splash of cream for dessert yesterday... VERY YUM! Good job you guys on staying with your plan. It really is about managing it long term - and there are great options. Bernie... I have lots of legal dessert recipes I can share with you that fill the need at gatherings like this.

Bernie - Your story of meeting your wife got me all misty eyed. That was very sweet. Colorado Springs IS very beautiful. I have been there twice now on visits and enjoyed it each time. The picture post was GORGEOUS!

Rob - Wishing you CLOSURE this week! LOL!

Elaine - Hope your back feel better quickly.

Mickey - I am curious too... is the ban because of SARS?

Well it's a Monday. We had gorgeous weather all weekend but the forecast for the week ahead is warmish but stormy. I have some weeding to do in the garden... may have to do it inbetween rain showers if the predictions are right.

Can't stay long as that would be rude to my brother and SIL who are leaving for work soon. We will be traveling home to MD later today.

Can't really read the thread because this computer loads so slowly. Our cable connection really spoiled me. Hopefully I can catch up from home.

For those that asked, yes the ban is because of SARS. Most of the hosptials have the ban. We even have the ban here where I am (4 hours from Toronto) The only way they let family in is if death is likely or it is probable that the patient will be in for more than 2 weeks. Since my mom will be in for quite some time, we hope they will let my dad in at least. My mom will be in ICU for a week they figure, then in a room for quite a bit. The surgery is Wednesday. I'll keep you posted.

Yipee for me. It's a short week, too. We go to Vegas at noon on Friday for the weekend. Summer is almost here, too. What a weekend, I did get the baseboards stained and the guest room cleaned, the house / dog sitters need the beds! Yikes, what a job. And I had the bad experience of opening the skimmer cover and fining a little bunny floating in it. We have had a rabbit or family of rabbits living under out shed in the back yard. This one must have fallen in and drowned, it was so sad. I tried not to cry, but he was so little. Ironic, eh?

On to better things, Elaine, rest your back. Rob, best of luck on the new condo, hope it all gets done, Finally!!!!! Steph, Aloha shirts on Easter? Did they wear them to services? Carol, be safe driving. Marla, science projects are fun, especially when you actually get a slight warning as to when they are due! Mickey65, PD for you and your mom, I know it is for the best, the staying away part, but gee wiz, I would hate to be in that situation.

I had salad and ham for dinner, ham is allowed big time on Atkins, just not Honeybaked. No dessert at dinner, but about 2 tablespoons of low carb fozen something that is supposed to be ice cream, with big emphasis on supposed.

I pmed the meister, who is now off to work. Colorado is my very favorite state to have lived in, I was there for 5 years when I was little. It would be perfect if WDW was there!

Thanks all for the good wishes. I just took a nice nap and at least I don't feel so sleepy I did a lot of work this weekend and I am sure that I will be better by this evening. I am almost thinking "darn, I had to miss work"

Those picures are beautiful Bernie, I definitely have to make it out there someday soon Oh and too funny about your kitty. I usually have a very hard time naming pets until vet looks over them completely

Cyn, congrats to your friend!! I hope that your trip doesn't get spoiled because of that.

Mickey, I do hope that your dad will at least be able to visit your mom while she is in the hospital. That must be hard for everyone there.

I'm ready for a nap myself Elaine....it must be that post holiday let down here...all that work for such a short amount of time.

RE BIL's girlfriend...I also thought that she would be considered my SIL "IF" they get married. Since DH and I only each have one unmarried brother, there aren't a lot of in-laws to be confused.
