Riddle me this!

Gail, I caught TLK at our local IMAX over the holidays with my nieces and nephews. It is such a great movie and the IMAX version is just incredible! I really thinkthat thie opening section of that movie - the first five minutes or so can stand on its own as a short piece. It is truly amazing! :) ENJOY! :)

Boo'sMom - your DH got this one FAST!

spb - enjoy your long weekend!!!!! :) :) :) You must be so excited about your trip!!!! :) What a neat adventure for your niece. Something she'll remember forever, I'm sure! We're looking at the PITT game as a very big test for our young team. Win or lose, we'd like to see how well our guys perform! :)=

Mickey - my DD's would LOVE to do that! My parents have travelled to Ottawa quite often - they love to take in long weekends there. They mentioned the canal there and the beauty of the place. ENJOY yourself! :)

Amid - If I could, I'd send you some of the nasty snowstorms we get here!!!! :p :p

Congrats and WELL DONE to you DS and team, Lars! GOOD LUCK to them too! And to your DH...:) Sounds like you're going to be doing some taxiing this weekend! :)

'Morning Sis.....we've not had a snow day yet this year. Pretty unusual up here!!!

Gina - the new James Bond car or the old one??? ENJOY! :) What movie are you planning on seeing? My Dad was telling tales from when I was 3! How I was just the best little boy. :)

Kim - John is factoring?? You should send along this riddle! :)

'Morning, Boots! :)

anyone know anything about kerosene heaters?
We got one about 3 years ago, and it now doesn't start as easily as it used to.....does one need to replace the felt wick thinkie? Where do you get one of those???

Here's a lil'Bernie story my Dad shared.

This took place in Scotland, I was three years old. The setup is that I was a very dependable little kid. You could tell me to do something, or stay somewhere, and I'd do it.

One day my Dad told me to go next door to my Aunt's house and get something from her. My Dad had no idea what it was I was to get. Off I went.

Well, to make a long story short, I was gone for quite a while. Dad did a quick search of the neighborhood and then got very afraid. He called out all the relatives. We had quite a few who lived in a two-block area. Soon they were all combing the neighborhood. No sign of me.

On of my Grandmothers lived quite nearby, the other lived about three miles away.

My Dad rushed over to my nearby Grandmother's place. No sign of me.

Now my Dad is really nervous. The cops are called.

They expand the search area and start heading towards my other Grandmother's place.

As my Dad is running down the street, a woman sticks her head out of the window of her tenament and asks my Dad if he's looking for a 'wee lad' wearing a blue coat. 'Aye' my Dad says. She lets him know that I'm in the train depot, just across the street.

The depot is a place where they work on the trains that run through the town.

And there I am, sitting in the cab of a big steam engine, wearing an engineer's cap, eating jam and toast, surrounded by all the workmen in the place. Happy as can be.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain...

Good morning Bernie and all. How's it "SHAKIN"?

Have a great weekend. PM on the way.

I believe it's the original car, Bernie. I'll get all the details when I get there! LOL! Either car will be a hit!

Movies....movies....movies.....so many to see....so little time. Honestly I don't know what we'll see. We did Thornberrys last weekend.....gotta keep it G or PG.

We should all bring Lil'Riddler stories to the riddle one day. I'll bet we'll come up with some doozies.

Have a nice day, everyone.

YOU KNOW WHO is always right.

Three solutions.. ACK.. I can barely get one and yesterday the market was too busy and Tom could not even look.. how dare business get in the way of the riddle.. OK.. I gave up right after I read it and am sending it to Boston..

Hi to all the riddlers and hope everyone will have a great weekend.. It is snowing here right now.. I hope to get out to see the movie, The Hours, and will probably post at some point a review.. I love going to the movies.. Take care all.. Love, RiddlerInept

PS.. I loved the little Riddler story.. now how cute is that, a great storyteller and he can sing too.. He is an amazing guy.. Hugs, Bernie, you make me smile..

Morning all -

pm soon to be sent

no plans for the weekend except for trying to stay warm

No school here either Monday

have a great weekend everyone

love the little Bernie story

TGIF!

Yes, I'm glad it's Friday. :teeth:

Bernie, was there any explanation as to why you had gone to the train depot instead of your aunt's house?

We don't have any plans for this weekend, except maybe to see a to-be-determined movie. Any suggestions?

We're all off Monday for the MLK holiday, so hopefully sleeping late will be a significant part of the weekend :)

Hope everyone's staying warm -- have a great weekend!

Good morning everyone! Since I didn't get my pants yesterday :( I hope I can get them today. I sent my PM with two accurate answers and one wild stab in the dark. I would really love to have my smarty pants before we leave for WDW in a few hours!

Hope everyone has a great day!:D :D :D

Good morning everyone! Back from San Francisco. :) It was beautiful weather while I was there... but I really was not able to enjoy it much (tied up in meetings the whole time). I did get to enjoy a great dinner at Farallon's on Wednesday night though.

Sent my PM"s ... but the "wee lad" is showering I think... so I will have to be patient.

So Bernie... how long were you in Scotland before you came to the US?

What am I doing this weekend?! Good question! I was so intent on just surviving this week - that I have not made many plans. I need to finish my seed order for this year's garden (almost time to start seeds!). I have chores to do in the barn which will likely tie up my Saturday morning pretty completely. I think I will spend the afternoon calling my girl friends and yakking with them... need to catch up. Sunday is going to be a LAZY day... take a long walk with my family among the rock buttes and spot deer... watch a good movie (or two!) and fix a large family meal since they have been living on frozen stuff for a few days.

Cute story... we do refer to MLK day in our house as Martin the King day.. when my Katie was little and in elementary probably the lower grades, she came from school one day and said we have Monday off.. very animatedly.. I said do you know why?? she said of course, Mommy, it is the Martin the King day.. so she is now 28 and we still call it Martin the King day.. :)

Good morning, riddlers!! Have a great weekend. PM sent.

Now that my DS has just shouted out another answer, I realize how goofy my last answer was earlier. I rushed off another PM just now, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks DixieDreamer! We will be there for 6 nights. The weather looks to be cool, but anything is better than the single digit highs we are currently getting in the Pittsburgh area!
