Revival of the angry thread!

Just don't get between Jen and someone she's mad at. You never know when there might be some collateral damage! :lmao:

I spent 40 minutes on the phone today with the customer service manager at the dealership that we leased the truck at today. She didn't seem to understand why the corporate office called her with the complaint. I proceeded to spend the next 39 minutes explaining to her why. Now, she has until the end of business Friday to come up with a solution for corporate on what to do with me. (insert evil laugh here) I am not expecting anything spectacular, or worthwhile from them, but at least they are off their butts doing something. It might not be much, but something is better than backwards. My guess is that she really regretted making that call today!

Welcome back to "Rambo, Part IX: The Slaughter Continues"

I just hate getting email notices about the wonderful deals Disney is now offering. As if the buy 4 get 3 wasn't bad enough, now they have a room only discount going : value $49, moderate $94, akl $154, deluxe villas $189. I know all the so called reasons why the campground doesn't get included in these specials but it still burns my rear that I'm paying $58 a night and someone in a hotel is paying $49.

I think for the price difference mousekeeping should come daily to my 5er.

I'm angry! My dh chose to rip my living room apart right before the holidays to put in a wood stove. Don't misunderstand me, it's a very nice stove and the stone work is turning out beautifully, but he has created more work also. He also hung new sheetrock next to the stone work. So, now I have sheetrock with no paint, plus the other walls need to be painted, the hearth isn't finished so consequently no wood stove either, I have to rearrange all the furniture since I lost valuable square footage (I have a really small house, folks), and my carpet needs to be replaced since the new changes have seemed to spot-light the extremely worn areas. Don't even get me started about the sheetrock, spackle and concrete dust ALL OVER EVERYTHING!! Christmas is only 21 days away!! Oh, did I forget to mention he leaves Sunday to go hunting for a week?!! :furious: It's a good thing I love him as much as I do...

Kelly....I think you need another trip to Disney!! I've spent the last 35 years of my life with a man like this. I could share lots of "building" storys with you, but that's best left off this board. If your DH is anything like mine, the explanation is always...."but I'm doing this for you!" :confused3

My advice? Whenever you get the urge to say "Wouldn't it be nice to have...(fill in the blank)....keep your mouth shut! Men like these don't understand the difference between "thinking out loud"... and... "I actually want"....(fill in the blank).

I'm beginning to think that you & I have the same Karma in our lives!;)

You're in serious need of an otter to hug!

Is this turning into the ungrateful wife thread ?

It's not that we're ungrateful, Scott. Sometimes it all about the timing.

Case in point. Two weeks ago I mentioned to my DH that I would like a privacy hedge planted on the west side of our house, and an oak tree planted in the yard where we lost an experimental maple tree. I was just thinking out loud. Next thing I know, my DH called a landscaper and arranged for all this on my only day off - and without talking with me first! When I asked him why, he replied...."well this was your idea!" I had to plunk out $880 for landscaping that I was going to use for other things. I'm not ungrateful....but the timing was way off!

Deb, I think our husbands may be related! Actually, this is something I've been fighting for 13 years. Our house is really small and I didn't want to part with the square footage. However, with the rising cost of living, including heat, I finally gave in. Yes, I was defeated. What I SHOULD have said was, "wouldn't it be nice if you could wait until January to start this project." I wasn't thinking. I was too focused and excited about the www trip! He assured me it would be close to finished when I got home. It was BARELY STARTED!! He is the Grinch. He has has stolen my Christmas this year! Seriously, I am really annoyed, but if this is the worst that ever happens, I'll be happy. And yes, I need an otter to  and some pixiedust: !!!!

I don't see the problem, really. I have had a bathroom half done for 2 years and it doesn't bother my wife at all.

Jim, Jim my friend...HOW long have you been married?....
2 years unfinished.:rolleyes1 If I were you...I'd sleep with one eye opened. You'd be better off if she bothered you about it. Trust me, she's taken this to a whole other level..and you may be in physical danger. As in "oops officer, I'm sorry it was an accident". I'd finish the bathroom.

Is this turning into the ungrateful wife thread ?
Not at all! He does really nice work and I'm sure when it's finished, it will be beautiful. I'm usually a very grateful wife. And he is also blessed by having a wonderful spouse! ;) But he should have waited until AFTER the holidays to start this project.

Jim, I waited for one of my bathrooms to be done for, get this, 10 YEARS!!!! I'm an extremely patient wife. But, I had another bathroom while waiting for that project. :lmao: I don't have another living room and Christmas comes but once a year. I love to decorate the house, but not with that mess going on. I also wonder if we asked Ftwildernessgirl, if she would agree with you that she doesn't mind about her half-finished bathroom? :rolleyes1

I just want to add a comment about an observation...

I think it's hysterical how all the men back each other up and protect one another when it comes to the home improvement subject!!!! I am convinced that all of them do the Tim (The Tool Man Taylor) grunt!!! I think it's their theme chant, like a secret hand-shake or something!! :lmao: Geez, don't mess with their trucks or their tools!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

We are forced to stick together, its called survival instinct !

I for one will not stand idly by and allow this to turn into a man bashing festival. :thumbsup2

No bashing..just a little good natured ribbing. ;)

Us ladies love you guys:lovestruc ..why else would we go 10 YEARS (Kelly, you need to be nominated for Sainthood:laughing: ) without a bathroom?

arruuuggg, urrhaa urrhaa, who told them about the secret hand shake? If we find out who you are, you will loose your right to stand up while you pee!!!

(*oh by the way, I have a whirlpool tub, commode and sink still in boxes, been that way going on about 3 yrs now, it's a guy thing you wouldn't understand!)
