Revival of the angry thread!

Hey I can relate to that. I have visited here less lately because following my last visit to WDW I was posting to help answer a few questions. I had a volunteer MOD PM me to inform me she found a picture in my signature offensive and based on her feeling alone I had to remove it. This was a picture of Tink dancing which had been on my Sig for at least a year. When I questioned her judgement she stated that there had been complaints months ago that others felt that in the picture Tink appeared nude or scantily clad. Well this was how Disney Animators drew her, Not me. She further said she was surprised the site owner had not removed it yet. This was the first I had heard of this so called problem.

Well unfortunately noone here has any rights since we don't own this web site and there is not a board to appeal to so basically I had two options. Conform to the Mods judgement and remove the Tink or delete my membership and stop posting to my friends and fellow members here. I removed it but I am not happy about it. I like being here and have saved tons of time and money thanks to advice from others. I just wish the Mods would police people using slightly mispelled foul language and adult themed conversations and inuendos rather than concentrating on pictures of Disney characters. Okay Rant over now.

Ive learned not to venture off of the camping boards very often....alot of other mods are just plain power thirsty....Scott & Rhonda are very cool....have gotten to know our prsonalities, and let alot of things go that other mods would have us decapitated for. I once sarcasticly called campers low lifes or morons or something to that effect and was pointed for it......she had no idea that I, myself AM a camper....its scarry out there, I stay home here where its safe on the camping boards.

I feel your pain!!! I had a 2nd mortgage once that lost a payment. I had PROOF of that payment in the form of a cancelled bank check. It took me over a year to get it straightened out and I had to sic the Better Business Bureau on them to get it fixed. There is an online complaint form with the Better Business Bureau. It WORKED in my case.

I am plotting evil...I will let you all know when I am finished...(insert evil, wicked laugh here...):cool2:

(I work best when I am plotting evil by the way.)

You may be right I think I had posted somewhere else when I got spanked.

Chris and I are thinking of a way to take his truck back to the dealership and find a way to put in a place where the sun doesn't shine. We have had it 9 mos and 7 of those months I have been on the phone with the finance company for something they have done to my payment. This time, since we went on auto pay to try to get some of THEIR issues to go away, they took the payment out on the 4th and then sent me a bill 16 days later saying it bounced twice and we owed them the payment and the returned check fee. Now mind you, MY HUSBAND WORKS AT THE BANK! He gets in trouble if we bounce anything. It never bounced, period. So, WE had to prove to them that it never bounced, not that they had to prove a record of it bouncing, or they were going to put it on our credit report as a 30 late notice. I can't understand how something comes out of the bank just fine and then they threaten you like this by demanding another payment and late fees for the same freakin month. I never had this problem with the first lease, never. And I am never buying, no matter how much my husband cries how wonderful they are, a foreign truck again.

I sympathize Jen. This week..(and it wasn't the best week to begin with)..my phone was disconnected. I went to dial out, and was told I could not. Mind you. I paid my phone bill..over two weeks ago.(16 days ago to be exact) In fact, I paid it EARLY..because I knew I was going away. Usually I pay through my own bank on line. This time..for the first time, I paid Verizon directly on their site. Good thing I kept the confirmation. Funny thing was I received an e-mail bill, and noticed my payment wasn't credited..but didn't think too much of it..just thought it was issued before I made the payment. Then I received the bill in the mail, and actually threw it away..because I knew I had paid it.
Imagine my shock when I didn't have phone service. When I called, they saw immediately that it had been paid. They were apologetic and told me there seems to be some kind of delay in the posting of the payments. Apparently I wasn't the first one to call about it. You would think they would check into that BEFORE they disconnected someone's service. I don't think one hand knows what the other is doing.:sad2: They said they credited my account the "restoral fee"..and all was good. We'll see what next month brings.

Good luck with your "evil plans"...;)

I was with a good friend of mine earlier this week who owns a trucking co. and depends on 5 Verizon lines to keep in touch with his drivers. He like Phyllis had made a $250 payment back at the end of Oct. at a Verizon machine in one of the stores. Seems that even though he made it they didn't credit him. He called his bank and they said nope, never came through. The machine had given his check back and even though he had it, they charged him a $15 fee for each phone. Mistakes like that could cost somebody a big contract. A courtesy call to customers should be in order.

After having worked for Verizon for 30 years, what has happened to Auntie & Donnie's friend sounds like a glitch in the bill payment processing system. Whatever you do, please don't get angry with the call center rep when you call. They have no clue why the payments didn't process on time - as departments no longer notify the call centers that a problem even exists.

Verizon opted to go with "mega call centers" where the service rep handles customer calls from any one of the 50 states - and you never know where you're going to receive a call from. When I retired in 2003, there were 5 call centers nationally, and one e-mail/website support center. Due to the fact that the mega centers are so large (200+ reps per office) and handle calls from everywhere, problems like this come in as scattered calls and no one call center is aware there is a major problem. It's not like the old days when there were smaller centers and reps in a small center would realize quickly that they were all receiving calls with the same types of complaints.

Verizon, like most large corporations, have put their earnings above customer service, and the service reps are the ones to have to take the blows from the customers. So, from a veteran service rep, if you have a problem, treat the rep with kindness. They are there to help you - not to do battle with you. I'd say more than 98% of the reps want you to be happy when you hang up the phone. Also, when they attempt to "up-sell" you on a call, just be polite and say "no" if you don't want the product offered. The reps are required to up-sell on every call & get royally ragged on by the supervisors if they don't make an attempt.

For the record - I so hated the money grubbing machine Verizon turned into that, after I retired I broke all ties to any of my former work-mates because it was very difficult to listen to all the "you can't believe what they are making us do now" stories. So, be kind and patient with call center reps from any business. It's a very tough and stressful job.

... Now we get to shop for a new car. I want a minivan. Any good minivans that can pull a pop-up? Have to put that on the wish list for the van, tow package. Is that possible?
Loretta

We considered this a few years back before we decided to keep with a truck and tow a larger trailer. What we found was that most mini-vans have such limited towing capacity, that the majority of the gross weight was consumed in the items you put in the van, never mind what you tow behind it. Add to that the trend to have stow and go rear seats, and you are now dealing with an after market hitch that will hit bottom on speed bumps or climbing steep driveways.

If you need the van for the # of people and extra space during traveling, I highly recommend a full sized van and like the other poster said, seriously consider the fuel economy in a diesel. Or a SUV. One of my co-workers has a Toyota 4-runner that gets about the same fuel economy as our mini-van.

Just remember to flush and wash your hands after you plotty.

I had to take a full shower!:lmao:

Chris is on his way to the dealership right now with lots of evidence collected last night. I am letting his passive aggressiveness work for the first round and I (with my hotheadedness) am staying home with the soon-to-be 5 year old. We will see what happens. Chris is a matter of fact kinda guy, so there will be little arguing of facts. It shouldn't take a finance company 9 months to set up an automatic payment and then, when it finally goes through, mess it up in such a gigantic way. Plus, they had all the information from the last lease and we were told it would just transfer. Salesmen will tell you absolutely anything to get you out the door and in their vehicles. My little voice told me not to do the deal and once again I did not listen. Bad Jen, Bad Jen, Bad Jen.

Well, I went to corporate today. The finance company after getting a fax from the bank Friday, did absolutely nothing about it today until I called and asked why. Basically I was called a liar on the phone (about making the automatic payment)and that they would have to take the fax (which they were going to do nothing with until I pressed them) and verify its contents. I guess it didn't matter that it CAME FROM THE BANK. I was also told that I had to call back in a few days to see if their verification process came through. Gee, I guess guilty until proven innocent. Criminals have more rights than I do here. So, I called corporate and told them the whole 9 month ordeal with this dealership and SE Toyota Finance. That poor man got an ear full. Oh, and by the way, the dealership never called us back today like they promised. Who is surprised?

I want an American truck.

Last night we traded in FWGirl's beetle. Today, on the way to the office, she informs me that on Monday she got the mail at the post office and PUT IT IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR AND FORGOT IT!!!! So this morning, I am doing damage control trying to contact the dealer so somebody will retrieve it since she doesn't remember what was in it, but thinks there were some credit card bills.

Sorry bout the Junk in the Trunk , Jim. Get it ,,junk in the trunk ! :lmao:

Anyways,, hope you like yer new purchase. :thumbsup2

That is my plan. I keep telling everyone that 2008 needs to end. This has been the most unlucky year of my entire life.

I know this is not an angry sentiment, but, I hope things get better for you BEFORE 2009!!! Oh, and I hope you don't pass your bad luck on to any of us! :lmao:
