Review of First Late Magic hour

Our family has been a guest at CR since Saturday. We have been bombed with phone mail and notices about the magic hour changes. I am not too clear on what attractions will be open in which parks but they have made a strong effort to let me know.

We plan on visiting Animal Kingdom tomorrow night for our first late night magic hour. Interested to see how it goes.

They aren't advertising such a test seems like outside of the ones already staying there which I find odd. I live nearby and we get a lot of ads for Disney World and I don't remember one that had anything to do with the extra hours. I only knew about it because it was posted here. Case in point, I made a reservation today for arrival on Sunday for a week and had no problem booking the room at Pop Century. I think it will be pretty cool to actually get to go on some of my favorite rides with no lines, things I usually skip when there is long lines.

Animal Kingdom though is the one I look forward to the most. I think it will be really fun (and definitely cooler) to enjoy the park in the evening, rather than the heat of the day. I love to see the sights at AK, but the heat always makes it hard, so evening will be a refreshing change.

I agree on the destruction of the classic rides at EPCOT to put in thrill rides. Six Flags over Disney isn't far from the reality if it keeps up.

We were there that night as well... honestly the most disappointing part was that TT had a 40 minute wait STILL at 10:40 at night. The rest was pretty cool to do.

I have to admit it was well talked about when I got there. I had the CM at check in tell me about it, a v/m message left on our phone about it and the CMs around Epcot even made it very well known that there was something special going on for the guests (at least the ones we saw)

I hope it is something they do as I prefer the extra time in the evening as opposed to the morning. Then again I really wish that they would bring back the old way they had where all parks were open one hour early every day... those were the days :teeth:

Shadow, it is a test -possibly not to be offered after the completion of the test. There is no point in advertising it (aside from letting guests who are here during the test know so that accurate information can be gathered). The point of the test itself is not to draw more visitors right now, it's to see if it will be feasible. ere go, no ads.
Not weird at all.

I just got back on Wednesday from POR, and in addition to the two voicemails and the letter left on my pillow already mentioned, I also got a brochure at check-in on Saturday which listed the AM & PM EMH days for each park, as well as the attractions that would be open in each park. And many of the bus drivers were making announcements about it as well, esp. when I was on the bus heading to the park that would have the EMH that night.

However, we really weren't able to make use of them. We got a wristband on Sunday night for EPCOT, and did ride Journey into Imagination after 7pm with absolutely no wait (not even sure if that was due to EMH or not), but then we had a PS for Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and we had to head over to see that and we didn't make it back to EPCOT. Tuesday didn't really fit into our plans with MGM, either, and then we left before MK hours on Wed. night. But it does seem like a good idea, which I hope they continue!
