I have been reading previous posts and think I am going to go on it which is a major step for me! I don't even like splash mountain, I hate big drops. Just wanted to check the Mummy doesn't go upside down?

Many Thanks

It doesn't go upside down, but it's pretty fast and intense. I only got to ride it once, so I remember less about drops and things than I do about the special effects and atmosphere. There's one drop at the end that you might not like, but it's small compared to Hulk and Dueling Dragons. It was one of my favorite rides, but I really love coasters.

Okay, I just read the other thread about Mummy. Ignore my last post and go back to the other thread for the detailed info. ROTM is GREAT!!!!!!!! Hope you try it and like it!

the ride doesn't go upside down and the biggest drop is like 26 feet, nothing intense at all, about half the size of the splash mtn drop. it's just really fast that's all.

The ride is split into 2 sections, the dark ride/story portion and the coaster portion.

The dark ride portion has the car slowly going through various show scenes with effects around you, such as animatronic figures, fire and wall projections.

There is also a backwards portion, but that is literally one drop backwards, which only seems to be like 15 feet high. There is also a launch into the coaster portion, but once that happens, its all in the dark, with a lot of turns. There is 1 hill where you get some airtime out of your seat, but that's pretty much it.

I would guess that it's a lack of respect for other people's feelings that is more likely to be ruining the world - not consideration and sensitivity!!

Anyway, as macraven says lets focus on the Mummy - I know its a totally different ride but is it as good as Spiderman??:confused3 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

the one thing that i enjoy about the mummy ride is it has a story line that follows thru the entire ride.

if you take the regular line for the ride, you will see how fantastic the creators were in entertaining the people in the line.

try the table in the center when you come upon it. if you go to the thread, secrets at unversal, something like that title, you will find more info on it.

it's a ride with a roller coaster inside a building.
once it starts up with the fast track, you wish it would continue longer.

i stay on site and have done the long regular line early in the morning.
all other times i use the express line but you miss so much of the ambiance that way.

same goes for spiderman lines inside the building.

this is from the thread universal/ioa secrets.

it is about the secret table in the line for the mummy.

Dark Marauder answer the question as follows:

"Both are in the fist part of the temple queue. There's a HUGE box with a hand print on each side. Touch one side and it rumbles. Touch both sides and wait for something to appear overhead. The magic mirror with a blue scarab is in the same part of the queue. When the scarab is bright blue, touch the scarab to deliver the air blast.

In the next part of the queue is the holographic key to the book of the dead. If you try to reach straight-in, you get an air blast and the room goes dark for a few seconds."

thanks ever so much for posting this :goodvibes - I had planned to do FOTL and whizz through this while my mum watched the children, but I don't want to miss the queue now, so I guess I'll possibly do this first thing when the park opens and join the regular queue. thanks again!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

That's the bad part of Express...you skip the queue completely and miss out on most of the fun stuff.

having now watched the youtube video of the ride, (thanks again Metrowest!!:thumbsup2 ), I am definitely trying it in May- I will report back on how scared I was upon my return!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The first time we went, we used the FOTL for everything. Now I keep hearing cool things about the line, so we'll have to experience that, too!

i did not take the regular line for the first few years the mummy was opened.
i did the express line and did not realize what i have been missing.

there is so much to see waiting in the lines.

go first thing in the morning and you won't have more than a 10-15 minute wait to reach the top for the ride.

i just love the regular line for the ambiance of the rides for mummy and spiderman and dr doom.

I had to delete a few posts on this thread. If your post was deleted it may have been because you quoted another post. When I delete a post, I also delete any posts that quote them. Thanks for your understanding. This thread is now open again.
