Restaurants to avoid

We hated Liberty Tree Tavern at the MK. Flavorless turkey and microwavable mac and cheese doesn't do it for us :sad2:

For me it would be Coral Reef hands down. Food was awful and service was beyond terrible. Second would be Flying Fish at the boardwalk used to be much better than it is now.

Yet another Pepper Market. The food is just awful and bland.

The only place I would NEVER eat at again is The Commissary at HS. It is really bad consistently.

Coral Reef - It was okay. Our waitress was nice but very forgetful. The tank was great and the kids really loved watching the little sharks and sea turtles swin around. Other than the tanks, we won't be eating there again.

The best place - 50's Prime Time Cafe!!

Interesting thread

I wonder if Disney tracks ratings on places and tries to improve them?

San Angel Inn has been terrible for years despite its beautiful setting. How hard is it to improve a mexican resteraunt?

I'm surprised to hear about the Yak and Yetti, been there 3 times and think it is one of the top places in WDW.

Big vote up for Boma here. I like spices and things that don't all taste the same like many disney options.

We did not like Whispering Canyon at all. Long wait to go sit in a dirty restaurant shoved in a corner table. I understand this place is all about the atmosphere but it was even louder than Chef Mickeys and the service was horrible. We just wanted our check and the server was socializing with every table while my trembling DD (4) wanted out. All the adults in our group left with headaches!!! Food, wasn't great and there are few healthful options. Salad was wilted and tasted dirty. Soup was cold. The only thing really edible was the cornbread and the packaged cookies my daughter got for dessert. Her "kiddie skillet" was ice cold and just gross. I could think that my husband or brother would like it here for the big skillet meal of meat and potatoes but these heart attack meals aren't for me.

We didn't like the food at Si-Fi either. Also we were that impressed with California Grill. 50's Prime Time was ok food but our waitress wasn't really into it. She asked what we wanted for dessert when she took our meal order. Also took our card too at the same time. Then when we said to cancel our dessert cause we were too full, she was like "but I already put in your order".

I'm not sure that San Angel Inn has EVER gotten a good review. The theming is beautiful, but I seriously thought I was going to end up in the ER after the last time I ate there. Horrific stomach cramps and cold sweats...granted, the place probably isn't that bad all the time, but never again.

Tony's was lousy, too. I've had better Chef Boyardee.

The Ohana breakfast is ok. I enjoyed the characters there more than I did at Chef Mickey's, but the family style serving and service were the pits.

Whispering Canyon is just very, very loud and very, very geared towards kids.

I started reading this thread in order to find good places for DBF and myself to go for our Sept/Oct trip, since it will be his first....I'm starting to get scared.

Mama Melrose--REALLY bad, REALLY slow service. Food was OK.

Coral Reef--bad service, food just OK.

But we love The Brown Derby and Chef Mickey's! And I can't wait to try Kona Cafe for breakfast.

Hopefully the fruit flies will be gone before you eat at Kona for breakfast.

Will NEVER do again:

ABC Commissary: the "Lost" fish and chips should have never been found and the "Ugly Betty" Burger was just that, ugly (love those 2 shows tho LOL)

Yak and Yeti CS: the honey chicken would have made better slingshot ammo

Sci-Fi Dine In: now we know why its so dark in there.

OK our never do again...
San Angel Inn - YUCK

Our it's ok, but not rushing to get back, but may give another chance...

50's Prime Time
Rose and Crown
Liberty Tree

Our never miss, can't wait to go...

Cali Grill
Yachtsman
Tappan Edo
Les Chefs de France

I couldn't agree more...the other restaurants I will not return..is Tonys :scared: and CRT (dinner) it was by far the worst dinner we had in WDW...and to top it off with a cherry the service was terrible....but I will say we enjoyed the breakfast years back @ CRT. ;)

The only restaurants I would NOT go to again would be Hollywood and Vine and the Akershus dinner. That said, we were less than thrilled with Coral Reef and Tony's. The MK really needs to get some decent table service in there!!

Another Sci-Fi vote here. Expensive, food not good and movies really dumb! We like Ohana's, Chef Mickey's, Wispering Canyon o.k. at there twice will be awhile before we go back. I have eaten at Hollywood and Vine and it was o.k. nothing spectacular. Love 50's Prime Time though - have reservations for lunch in July.

Hated the food/selection and communal tables at Biergarten!!! :headache: Never again!!
