Restaurants-favorites? ones to avoid?

We just ate at Enchanted Oak & we all thought the food was terrible. I was surprised because a lot of people on here seem to recommend it. Our chicken tasted like it was raw and the ribs were cold. The kids mac & cheese tasted like plastic, but actually my DS4 seemed to love it. My DD5 wouldn't even touch it.

I'm suprised nobody mentioned Confisto's (or Back Water bar) at IOA. We always seem to end up there. The food is excellent and the outside seating has a great view of the park and people watching. You can also get the same menu at Backwater Bar. And they have happy hour too!!

We ate at Nascar Grille at Citywalk last year and liked it. I wasn't expecting much, but DS is into cars and we thought he would enjoy it. It turned out to be the best meal we had.

Not that I'm a lush or anything, but do they serve alcohol at the restaurants in the parks?

You know, I've never eaten here. It's so hard for me to be in Islands and NOT eat at Mythos.. but I really wanna try it. Maybe next time.

Mythos is definitely the best food/service we've had during our visits. Tchoup Choup is OK to good, but it's certainly not great. The Hard Rock Cafe has decent food and very good service, and the theme is a lot of fun.

I would unequivocally avoid The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel. The servers seem willing, but the kitchen staff just isn't into it.

Sounds like they need Gordon Ramsay's help on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. :rotfl:

We like Mythos too but we have little kids. Our kids don't do well for long in resturants like Mythos. Sitting in the outside area at Confico's/backwater bar is ideal. The kids can get up and walk around or color pictures, ... while the adults sip cold beverages.

Wow - there are some differing opinions on here! We loved Circus McGurkus, especially the chicken, and Pastamore and found the burgers at Mel's to be as good as burgers get. We absolutely did not like Nascar Cafe, International Food Court, Comic Strip Cafe and Thunder Terrace (the chicken wraps anyway - never tried anything else).

The only one at Universal that I can remember is Finnegan's for Happy Hour.
