We will be staying at SSR and have made reservations at the Restaurantasaurus for a breakfast with some friends of ours...their little boy is a dinosaur freak...Just seeing if anybody has been and what we can expect as far as food, service and extracuriculars?

Thanks

In the actual restaraunt, there won't be much dinosaur stuff except for some of the decorations. For breakfast it is Donald's Breakfastosaurus. It is a great buffet and the characters are Donald, Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto (maybe Minnie). There is lots of Dinosaur stuff in the area and DinoLand is just outside the restaurant for lots of fun after breakfast.

We went a month ago for the first time and really enjoyed it! As the reply above says, there were not any dinosaur activities in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was great and the characters & waitstaff were really fun. We saw Donald, Mickey, Goofy & Pluto dressed in their safari gear. Our waiter was really fun too. He played some jokes on DD and she really enjoyed it!

Food -- A cold buffet and a hot buffet
The cold buffet had cereals, pastries, KK donuts, fresh fruit, yogurt and bagels
The hot buffet had eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast pizza (yum), quiche (yum), chocolate chip pancakes (double yum), french toast, hot apples etc.
We really enjoyed the food!

Once we were done with breakfast (our ADR was 8:30) ... we stepped out into an empty DinoLand. We were able to ride Triceretops Spin many times in a row!!

My 6 & 2 year old loved the Boneyard. It is a safari and Dinosaur themed playground. This year we found the digging area where you can uncover a skeleton of a Wooly Mammoth. If you are there early it will still be all covered and it is exciting for the kids to discover it. If you can't find the way to the digging area just ask the CM at the entrance. It is up a stairway and over a bridge with a very large dinosaur skeleton on it. My daughter was too short for the ride "Dinosaur" so we walked through the Dinosaur paths that had statues of dinosaurs that she stood against and sat on the tails for pictures.

My DS was 5 at the time and loved Donald's Breakfastosaurus, but he LOVES breakfast food. We got to see all the 4 characters there (Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto) and there was plenty of food to choose from. I've only been to 2 other character meals, but my DS really loved this one.

Just wanted to mention. Don't expect elegance in this restaurant. It is supposed to simulate a palentologist dig/camp site. It is a fun restaurant with a fun atmosphere and pretty good food and the CM's are great.

As others have mentioned, the dig site would be a great place to take him.

We went last April. We made reservations for 10am but got to the park for opening and after the opening parade we went to the safari first and did another couple rides before breakfast. It wasn't crowded when we got there and we had an AMAZING waiter - the castmembers are all archeologists and are quite funny! The food was OK - nothing spectacular - a normal buffet - but the environment was well worth it! We are planning on going back again this July! :thumbsup2
