Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

Ok, maybe I should point out that the reason we have never seen Illuminations or Wishes is because I don't like the loud noise of fireworks (very senstivite hearing). However we did stay at MVMCP once long enough to see the holiday fireworks.

Of course staying at BLT this trip, we will venture up to Top Of The World so John can see them from the deck. I am very affarid
of heights and will stay in the lounge.

I like to watch Wishes from the end of Main Street at the entrance to the hub.

The last couple of times we try to get a spot along the sidewalk heading toward FutureWorld, where there's a photo spot for taking pictures of the castle.

Looks like the bouncing Mickey pumpkin has bounced its way into the recycle bin for the year. ;)

We generally stand on Main St for Wishes, not far from Casey's.
Quite often we watch the fireworks from the backstage area, at the transportation bldg.
Sure we don't get the full effect. But we don't fight crowds and can be be home in just over 20 minutes. :rotfl:
Nothing like parking the SUV, rolling back the sunroof cover, laying back and watching the fireworks overhead. :rotfl2:

If you like to see the fireworks you could try a Wishes cruise, with or without the music, (I don't think) you don't hear the noise, it's wonderful! We're doing a Pirate Wishes Cruise in January with the DGC, and I'll try to take note, but I don't think you hear the noise when you're that far away.

Enjoy the Lounge! We'll be at BLT over Marathon weekend.

PS. I like to view wishes from the bridge in front of the castle, I like to lean against the wall/side of the bridge. I'm so tired by that time of the day. I also like to see them from Fantasyland, but DH doesn't like it there, he says there's too much turning your head to see the different fireworks, I think it's fun.

Thank you Bobbi, never thought of a fireworks cruise.

Have you been to any DIS meets?
At the park? Or somewhere else?
Did you meet any exchangers?
Who did you meet?

Yes, I went to a Dis ladies only meet at WDW in 2006. I met Trish, Beth (mommau4, she used to hang out here), and a few others. That meet was the problem meet--some of the ladies had the wrong idea....but the ladies I met were great. I went back in 2007, there were less of us but we had a good time. Last December, I went with 3 others, I think a few of them went this year. I still keep in touch with a few of them.

My first meet (kind of) was Dec. 2002....DisCon. I wasn't actually part of it, but went by to meet a few people....KimRaye was one.

I made a special trip to Chicago for a Yaya meet (was one) in 2004.......some locals had a meet for us and I met KimRaye there again (and Dan Murphy for the second time).....and lots of others.

I went to DLR with a Yaya sister in 2004 and met up with a couple others.

I met with mommaU4 in Las Vegas

Have arranged to meet with others at WDW......DisneyCP2002, JLitfin, DJT, Luv2Roam, bobbiwoz...hmmm did I miss someone.....hope not

Looking forward to meeting more in 2011!! :yay:

I went to a meet in 2007. I met several ladies. (Missy, Kat, Beth, and many others) Most are gone now. I do agree with Missy as far as how that went. I did have a fantastic time with Missy and a few others at the Poly one evening.

I met up with Dan Murphy on one of our trips. We had a great time with him.

Missy is the only exchanger that I met.

Is that the famous Poly night at the pool? I forgot that you were there! :upsidedow

Yes it is. For me, that was the best part of the whole trip. :thumbsup2

It was a blast. the next meet, a bunch of us would sit by the pool at Pop every night--me, Joanne, Jenna, Anita, Debbie, Kelli--and drink our Coke slushes & Goose. Last year, when Anita, Joanne & I went, we stayed at the Poly & drank at the lounge--too cold to drink outside. ;)

Never been to a meet, but was at Disney once when they had a hugh meet at Jellyrolls just didn't know about it.

I have not met any exchangers but did meet a DIS'er once at MMVCP, unfourtantly can not remember her name.

Okay...a couple of pictures.

not sure why it posted sideways....oh well, I probably look better that way :rotfl:

DH and I have met Meriweather and her DH. :goodvibes

I've met Dan Murphy and Simba'smom who is a DVCer. We three went to a Flower Power Concert and had a great time.

We've been mailing a Christmas tree for the DVC tree pass along for the past 4-5 years and I've met some Disboard members that way, but none of them are exchangers here.

The 2011 exchange meet will be either my last school week or exam week...if it does extend through the weekend, I will come for that. I hope to meet some of you then!
