We are going to plan the meet to extend over a weekend. For you....and Luv2Roam
I am thinking from a Th evening to a Sunday night or Monday morning.
"Official" happenings then and of course, people can extend their stay.
We will probably stay for 9 or 10 nights.

Have you been to any DIS meets?
At the park? Or somewhere else?
Did you meet any exchangers?
Who did you meet?

Never been to a DIS meet and am really looking forward to our exchangers meet Dec, 2011. We will be staying about 7 nights at BCV or VWL (if I can get a room at 7 months), already have it worked into my schedule to make sure I have enough DVC points.

I did have lunch with Nancy (Meriweather) last January while touring Hollywood Studios.

A few years ago DH and a friend did an Illuminations dessert Dis meet. However I ended up getting sick and spent the entire time away from everyone....
Besides that we have met quite a few people and some have become to be good friends we have met, spend a lot of time together and even stayed on property with over the years. And those friendships all started out with simple pin trades.
One couple we are even meeting up with this weekend. (Last shot for us for this years Food & Wine Fest!)
So you never know...

Thurs til Monday or Tuesday sounds good. We should try to do the Christmas party, that was lots of fun. A lot more laid back than the Halloween party, it's a great chance to ride some of the rides that are always busy.

I do want to do the Christmas party. We did it last year in Nov.
I think it would be a lot of fun if that is one of the things we did as a group....all dressed in our Christmas duds.

We had a lot of fun last year. I had arrived that afternoon, got checked into the hotel (Poly), then we went to Crystal Palace for dinner, then did the party. While we were waiting for the parade, i was sitting on the sidewalk of Main Street, leaning against something. By the end of the night, I was running on fumes, so they ran off to ride some more rides while I sat on a bench by the firehouse. I was exhausted, but it was so worth it. That party was so much fun. I even managed to get up early the next day to make an early breakfast at Crystal Palace (the 3 of us love that place), but I did sleep in the 3rd day of the trip.

I run out of steam at night, but am always an early riser.
I think if we are a group, I can feed off the energy and stay up later

I wear my DIS button with my user name on it
I also have lime green ribbons on my camera bag and my sling pack.
I have been approached every trip by someone......usually more than once.
Even ran into someone I knew from the DIS at DLR once.

I have been in lines, on the bus, on the boat to DTD, waiting for Illuminations!, at the food court at POP

Even ran into one person twice the same trip.....I think that was Simbas Mom

Love the pics, Nancy!

I almost met Nancy right after my first exchange, but we missed by a day. I met Dean from the DVC boards waiting for a flight to MCO--he saw my DVC tote. Haven't met anyone else, even with my button. I think it will be so much fun to finally see who we've been chatting with all this time!

I have yet to meet any of the DISers. I do weer the LGMMH on my backpack and my camera bag when I go to any Disney resort. Maybe I'll encounter someone when we go to WDW in Aug/2011, as there will be more DISer's down there. Tend to go during the slow times of the year.

I wear a Dis lime green tag that I made with my name on it in the parks (it is attached to my bag.) I have never been approached by a disser, but have met up with dissers in the parks (at WDW, DL and DLRP.) I was approached by a fellow disser on the aeroplane to LA last year though!!

No, I've never been approach while at the parks or resorts by any DISers. Maybe my next trip I'll wear my pin during my whole trip and I'll meet more DISers. My last trip to WDW I only wore my pin part of the time.

I wear my bobbiwoz Disboards pin and have met lots of people, mostly on busses. People look, read it, look again, and eventually we make eye contact. I have a lime green Mickey head on my camera case and have had people notice it. CM's sometimes ask about the pin.
