I am going to wdw with my bf and some friends next may and I don't have a clue where we are going to be able to eat! Bf is adventurous with new foods and I am NOT! We want to have dinner one night just the two of us but we don't know where we can make a reservation. Is there anywhere that he can try new foods bu I can stick to a chesburger or chicken nuggets?

Sorry, but if you are limited to chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers you may need to tell BF he is out of luck. Not many places will serve creative, exciting dinners and offer chicken nuggets and burgers. Many of the new healthier kid's menus don't carry these things either. If you could eat steak and chicken you might be able to find an enjoyable meal in places like Bistro de Paris, California Grill, Flying Fish Cafe, Jiko, Citricos, Wolfgang Puck's, Raglan Road, Le Cellier, bluezoo, and many other wonderful eateries.

Good Luck in finding a place where you both can eat.

:thumbsup2

I'm not an adventerous eater either, but my palate is a bit stronger then chicken nuggets and cheese burgers. Some places I have reserved for this upcoming trip are:
Whispering Canyon - basic BBQ on the menu
Spoodles - mediteranian, but they have flat bread pizza as well as a few pasta dishes that seem basic enough
Tepanyaki (although it is a new name now) - basic stir fry terryaki style meats. It is deemed Japanese, but it is not that far out there.
California Grill - the have steak and some roasted chicken as options most the time.
Mama Melrose - Italian... spagetti and meatballs is pretty basic
Le Celleir - steak. chicken.
Even buffets like Boma have a wide range of food. They also have a childrens buffet with those yummy chicken nuggets if all else fails :upsidedow

Most the time in all the above places if you see an ingredient you may not be willing to deal with, you just need to ask the server if they can do without or you can replace with something else.

Hold the pickle... :rolleyes1 hold the lettuce... :rolleyes1 special orders don't upset us...:rolleyes1

Check out the menus on www.allears.net to get some ideas on which places will serve things you can tollerate. There are many out there.

If you're not going until May, perhaps there's no time like the present to explore other foods. I can't imagine going to WDW and eating just those foods when there are so many fabulous options! :confused3  Are you planning on doing table service meals or counter service? Perhaps perusing the menus to see what your options *really* are is the best solution if you're not willing to budge. I think that's unfair to your DBF, but what do I know?

You know, health wise, cheeseburgers are pretty adventurous. You're taking your life in your own hands. :lmao:
Seriously though, maybe it would be a good opportunity to branch out and try some new things. Check out a buffet. Crystal Palace is probably a good choice. You're not going to get any deep fried worms or still beating frog hearts on your plate, but maybe some pasta salad with a little feta would help you get your feet wet in stepping away from the chicken nuggets.
Oh, and tell Tigger I sent you. ;)

Boma has some adventurous foods and their "children's table" usually carries things kids would eat. You might try there.

Mama Melrose - Italian... spagetti and meatballs is pretty basic

I am an extremely picky eater with lots of food issues. I recently found out that I was borderline autistic as a child, so that might explain some of it, but I literally can NOT try new things as most foods will make me gag. I have to eat very plain foods, I don't like anything squishy, no fruits or veggies, and nothing that's all mixed together like a casserole or any kind of salad.

That being said, I also thought Mama Melrose would be a safe bet. WRONG! They don't actually serve any pasta. There were several items on the menu that I had to ask what they were because I was not familiar with the words they used. I ended up ordering off the kids' menu, I just asked for an adult portion of the kids' pasta with alfredo sauce. It was very good.

From one picky eater to another - you will find something to eat pretty much anywhere you go in WDW. You can always order from the kids menu, or ask to modify a dish - for example, if they have some sort of chicken covered in cheese, you can ask for it without the cheese or however you'd like it.

I really liked 'Ohana and I thought I would not find anything there to eat. The chips and dip were very good, they had some scalloped potatoes that looked gross but tasted very good, and you can ask for the meat to be cooked any way you like it. The beef was pretty rare, and I asked for some well done and they brought me some, no problem. The server even kept me updated on how long it would be, she came around a couple of times to let me know what the chef was doing.

I agree with going to a buffet. Boma was good, they have basic stuff on the kids section of the buffet and more interesting things as well. I stayed away from most of the weirder foods but it's also nice that at all WDW buffets, there are signs by each station that tell you what the food is, so there's no guessing.

You could always plan around what your BF and other friends want to eat, and you could pick up something else at a CS place at a different time and just go where they want to go to share the experience with them. As the picky one, you can't expect everyone else to forgo what they want just because YOU don't like it.

We had lunch at Les Chefs de France last week and the people at the table next to us ordered burgers. The food there is fantastic. I think you will find something for bf and yourself that you'll both be very happy with.
