I've been down to WDW several times but have never used the taxis that are parked at the resorts. Usually when we go to another resort for dinner we would take the first bus that showed up at our resort to whatever park it was going to then jump on the bus from there that is going to the resort we needed to go....which is a huge waste of time. So I thought this time we would try a taxi or town car. For instance, we're staying at SSR and need to get to AKL Kidani for dinner at Sanaa. Is the cost outrageous???

I don't usually use cabs at WDW. One of the few times was when I was at YC and needed to get back to POP. It's only about an 8 min ride, so I just couldn't see using Disney buses/boats to get there. So took a cab...it was about $10, but that was years ago.
You could always walk over to DTD and take their bus. The thing with going from SSR to AKL is that it is a long ride, so the cost will go up .

Two different times we took cabs from BCV to AKL To go to Boma! Think it cost about 16$ with tip. Hope this helps.

Definitely. Thanks. It's worth it to me! Just didn't want to jump in and find out it was $50 or something ridiculous thing.

Also, since you are at SSR, it is extremely easy to just take a boat or bus to DTD (depending on which section you are in), and then take the AKL bus from DTD. If you are in Congress Park, it is easily just about a 3-4 minute walk to Marketplace bus stop, or it you take the DVC ferry, it drops you off at Pleasure Island, and the bus stop is right nearby.
