I have used search but I can't find this anywhere. I know to park at a resort without using valet parking you can only park for 3 hours. I have reservations at Chef Mickey's and then I have a reservation for Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise. Will I have to go out and come back in because I will definitely be there for more than 3 hours or if I tell them when I am parking will they have a second option? TIA

do you have CM breakfast? If yes then you would be taking a risk to leave your car there all day. They could tow your car if they decide its been there too long. However, if you are staying in a Disney resort and you have a parking pass they generally won't be looking too closely (as reported by some friends).

I am staying at a Disney resort but not the Contemporary. I have a 5:30 dinner reservation for Chef Mickey's and the CM told me to be at the Pirates Cruise at 8. So I wouldn't be leaving the Contemporary.

I think since you are still 'doing business' there, you would be fine! like, you should get 3 hours per reservation. at least in my mind that makes sense. hopefully someone will come along with a more official answer.

As long as you are using the amenities of the CR, you are fine parking your car there. BUT, if you were to have a CMs ADR for breakfast and then you want to walk over to the MK for the day? Not so fine.

This is fairly easy to answer. Once you go through the security gate at the Contemporary and are speaking to the guard there about your intentions to self park, you tell them exactly what you said here. You have a 5:30 dinner reservation at Chef Mickeys followed by the cruise for which you need to check in around 8:00. Then ask the guard where you should park in the self lot so you wouldn't have to move your car in between. The guard will be able to answer your question and you have been perfectly honest.

I would note the guard's name (discreetly) and casually note the time at which you talked to the guard.

Then, follow the guard's instructions and all will be well.

Thanks everyone for answering. I would hate to find out I was towed my first night there. I also don't want to worry about it while I am enjoying my cruise.:)

You won't be towed and the 3hr limit is an online rumor not something they tell you when you park. And while there are a few that swear by their mother's life they have seen people towed....Disney doesn't tow people. They certainly don't tow people who are at the resort spending money.
