Resort Parking Question

I was wondering what the various resorts do about parking if you are a guest at another resort (and already paying parking there). If you wanted to eat at another resort, would you be charged for parking if you didn't take a bus? As a follow up, is the bus system easy to navigate between various resorts? Is there a "TTA" type place at USO?

City Walk would be the central hub.

Are you going directly from resort to resort, or from parks to resort?

The buses all arrive at the same spot, right before the security area of City Walk. The boats arrive in the center of City Walk. I suspect most of the time, the resorts you would go out of your way to eat at are the boat resorts.

Some resorts you can also just walk between.

We were interested in eating at the sapphire falls rum bar one evening, and are staying at PFB. I'm talking about travel between the resorts.

Easiest would be to boat from PB to CityWalk, walk about 50' down the dock, and boat to SF. Shouldn't be any wait for the boats unless you are going right at park close. It will be quicker and less walking than going between 2 parking lots.

Well as long as you are not close to 2am when the boats stop running, would be the easiest to transfer in boats to get from PBH to SF.

If you are coming from PBH, I’d take a boat to City Walk, then a boat or walk to SF. And do the reverse to get back to your room at PBH. If already in the parks, take the boat to SF and return after switching boats at City Walk. If you are into some walking, can also walk both ways, going through City Walk. PBH’s walk brings you next to the Studios in City Walk, walk from City Walk to SF starts next to the Margaritaville restaurant.

And will say, the bar at SF is very nice, great drinks and good food.

Thank you!

So I take it that driving between the two resorts is not an option unless you want to pay for parking at both locations?

I don't know about paying for parking at both. But once you walk to your car, drive through traffic around the entire Universal resort area (PB & SF are on opposite sides), park, walk into the next resort... it has to be more effort and more time than changing boats.

Agreed. If you are used to Disney transportation, you will find that the Universal boats are much quicker and more efficient. I would always recommend driving resort to resort at Disney, but the boats are very easy and quick at Universal.

Thank you... as an aside, what time in the AM do the boats start running?

I agree with PPs that it would be easiest to use the boats. However, I *think* the resort will validate parking since you're dining there if you decide to drive. Its been a few years, but I seem to remember this being the case for me at HRH.
