Do resort IDs act as your room keys?

For the EMH benefit, does each member of your party have to present their resort IDs to get the wristbands?

I think that's it...Thanks a million. Only 4 months to go before my first Disney resort experience!!!

Yes the resort id and key are the same thing. And yes, everyone over the age of 3 needs to have and present a resort id in order to get a wristband for the evening emh.

They don't just give you the wristbands, they physically put them on each person's wrists. This is to prevent people from passing them off.

I am just curious about how it all works. So when you check in, is that when you tell the FD the names of everyone in your party and they issue the ID cards.

Either when you make your reservation or when you check-in.

Actually, it's everyone three and older, not over the age of three. Those three year olds have GOT TO PAY!! :rotfl:

For morning EMH, they check your room ID when you enter the park. For evening EMH, you must get a wrist band to stay in the park and they will scan your room ID. No room ID, no entry.

And I have seen them deny entry to non-guests at morning EMH. In fact, one group almost got all the group through before the CM asked to see their room ID. They didn't have one and they all got kicked out until actual park opening time.

I imagine that everyone's reservations are the same as mine, that everyone's name is already in the computer and on the reservation. Each room key is a credit card-like thing, only there's nothing engraved or embossed, everything is smooth and flat. Each person 3 and older has their own card with their own name on it. These cards open the room doors and serve as park tickets.

If you want, you can also, at check-in, set up room charging privileges, which is SOOOO convenient. You can use your room charge at every restaurant and shop in the parks (as well as most of the snack carts). At check-in, you give them a credit card imprint and request a certain amount of charging privilege (up to $500 at the values, up to $1000 at the moderates, and up to $1,500 at the deluxes). Your card won't actually be charged until you reach the pre-set limit you requested. You can always go back for more if you reach your limit. If you check out without reaching your limit, your credit card will only be charged what you actually spent, you won't be charged that full pre-set limit.
