Can I order a gift basket from POP to be delivered to my room while there?

You can order baskets from the Disney Florist. The deluxes can provide fruit baskets, etc. from room service, but at the values your only option would be to use the florist, or one of the outside companies that does gift baskets.

Thanks. I was hoping to design my own basket, with mugs, towels and a few other things.

For our 2007 vacation I ordered a gift basket and had it delivered to OKW upon our arrival. It was ordered through a website:confused: memoriesbysarah. I am almost 99% sure that was the company, but today i cant find it. Can someone pleaes tell me if this company still exsist and where can I find the website to place an order for our upcoming trip. Thanks

We stayed at the Poly in 2007 for a week. We had 3 rooms. Because this was a special trip for us, I ordered gift baskets for my two sons, their wives, and children. I ordered from the Disney Florist. However, they were not in the rooms. When we arrived at the Poly, our rooms were not ready. We had to wait until after 5:00 before they were ready. We were told that the gift baskets could not be delivered because the rooms weren't ready. We went to the front desk and brought them up to our rooms ourselves. It totally ruined the surprise. I had ordered fruit, cheese, Mickey ears caps for my grandchildren, cookies, etc. It was a total disappointment. We're going in January of this year, and I will not waste my money on gift baskets again. My last trip to Poly ruined any expectations I have a great trip. This time we are staying at the Grand Floridian, but I am not so naive to think things will go well. I just hope our rooms are ready and are nice. For the price they charged, I don't want to feel like a fool for spending the money.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have ordered from Peg several times!!! Her baskets are amazing. Room decorating is awesome. I would go to her site and take a look. You can still make your own basket with her merchandise. Really easy and fun.

No matter who go through...they can't deliver the baskets to the room until you check in. So, the baskets won't be "in" the room until you are there. It does kind of ruin that surprise. What we did...we checked in, etc. then went down to the pool and ate, they delivered the baskets to the room when we were at the pool.

I thought Peg and others could not put food in the baskets anymore...something about a new law and a dealbreaker for me...I want snacks in my basket.

I too learned the hard way about disneyflorists not deliverying to your room on check in day. Since then I have my things delivered on our first real day and everything has been great. It's actually a better surprise since no one is expecting it. We love the snacks otherwise I would support a diser.:)

It's now Memories by Betsy and she does a really good job.

It's not Memories by Betsy and she does a really good job.

I second the Memories By Betsy vote. She's a DIS'er and incredibly helpful! I just got my picture of our baskets last night and I cannot wait to check in and get them. I'm ok with them not being in the room immediately when we get there as we'll probably check in then head off to eat or something to give them some time to drop them off. ;)

I also picked up things for our basket locally-Ebay, Dollar Store, ect and shipped them to Betsy to be included in our baskets to help save on the cost a bit too.

As for food, no only Disney Florist can include food in their baskets but there's no way I can justify their prices. I love Betsy and she'll be doing our baskets for every trip we need them for!

Here are our baskets:
The one of the left is for DH, the middle one is for DS1, myself and DMIL and the one on the right is for DS4.

I used MemoriesbyBetsy for our upcoming 25th anniversary trip at the Coronado for a surprise for my DH. I gave her an idea of what DH liked and she came back to me with suggestions. There was something I had found I wanted in the basket, and I just shipped it to her and she included it. Here is a picture of my DH's surprise for September:

I am using Betsy for our upcoming trip. I also sent her a bunch of items that I bought on ebay to be included in our basets. Betsy is helpful, very good to communicate with via email, and also doesn't mark up any items that she purchases for the baskets. I am having her make 4 baskets for our upcoming trip. I just sent her the items that I purchased for the baskets and cannot wait to see how the baskets turn out. She has pictures of over 300 baskets that she has made on her website www.memoriesbybetsy.com. Just click on the picture of the basket and it will take you to her examples.

About them being in your room when you check in.... Most Disney resorts will not allow that because your room is usually not assigned until you check in. In 2007 I used memories by sarah (is now Betsy) and we were not in our room 10 minutes and our baskets arrived. Totally worth it, the kids loved the baskets from "Mickey & Minnie"

the baskets are beautifulprincess:
but with 3 kids and having to get one for each!
and a delivery fee!
ouch

I used to do Disney Gift baskets with another company, we have since stopped doing them. I know how much time and effort goes into the whole she-bang.

It really REALLY burns me when I see the whole "so and so doesn't do mark-ups" Regardless of WHO you use be it Disney Florist, Betsy or Peggy THERE ARE MARK UPS!!!! Do you think they are in business out of the goodness of their hearts???? Bottom line is to make money. Plain and simple.

Betsy puts things in a box and a cellophone bag and adds a bow. Plain and simple. No design time involved, it works for her. You can see her baskets above.

Disney Florist and Peggy design gift baskets and theme them according to merchandise and sometimes resort choice. They are professional designers and it works for them.

Here's some of Peggy's work

Use whoever you choose but know that there is a difference in the end product.

I agree that they're in business to make money-that's why they're doing what they're doing. I know personally Betsy has worked with me a lot on prices and what my budget is and what can be included for that.

I also have to say that I totally disagree with the part about "throwing it into a cellophane bag and adding a bow". I know that it took Betsy some time to put my baskets together as I sent her enough stuff to include some in our baskets for December as well. I know she didn't just reach into the box, pull something out and throw it in the bag. I'm also very thankful that they're wrapped up so nothing will get on them or fall out of them in the process of storing or delivering. I'd rather pay more to have things in the basket as opposed to some tissue paper in the box with the gifts. That's just my taste and we all have a different one. :goodvibes

Your baskets are adorable-I'm debating a Star Wars theme for my husband for Christmas time as he's a nut about things like that (personally I've never had the pleasure of sitting through Star Wars and I'm ok with that!)

Good luck to the OP in trying to put something together-you've certainly got several different choices!

Hi
If the gift baskets are delivered in a box, do the CM's take it out of the box before they deliver it to the room, or is it still in the shipping box? Sorry to highjack the thread. Thanks!!

Gift baskets is kind of a misnomer. Gift boxes are used to hold merchandise. The boxes are then put in clear cellophane bags and tied with a bow to keep the merchandise intact and safe. The CMs deliver the boxes to the guest room as delivered by the gift basket company. This is true of all the gift basket companies.

I agree 100%, Betsy does an AWESOME job!!! She worked with me and then sent me pics of the finished product and I was so happy with her, why are there so many unhappy people on these boards, gosh, of course you pay more, they are in it to make the money, but to see my son's face, it was worth every MARK UP I was charged.....I highly recommend Memories by Betsy

No matter who go through...they can't deliver the baskets to the room until you check in.
. . . there are too many reasons the room might not be yours
. . . it is embarrassing for others to get your basket
. . . if you stay on Club Floor, sometimes they can place in room before check-in
. . . but, it is not guaranteed

I thought Peg and others could not put food in the baskets anymore...something about a new law and a dealbreaker for me...I want snacks in my basket.
. . . state law requires a license and inspections to do food
. . . even prepared and pre-wrapped food stuffs

I too learned the hard way about disneyflorists not deliverying to your room on check in day.
. . . the Disney Florist does deliver to the resort on check-in day
. . . it is the Front Desk Runner that takes baskets to rooms
. . . however, they have other duties and usually scheduled room delivery runs
. . . it might have just missed the Runner

Hi
If the gift baskets are delivered in a box, do the CM's take it out of the box before they deliver it to the room, or is it still in the shipping box?
. . . the Runner delivers items to the rooms in the same method as received
. . . the do not unpack or repackage
. . . any damage could be blamed on them, whether their fault or not
. . . it is not worth the liability or arguments of liability
