If I recall members are able to get a discount when paying cash. Is this only available at the DVC resorts and does it have to be used in conjuction with points?

I've used so many points I have to find another way to stay onsite!

The members' cash discount is only available for the DVC resorts. (And getting that 25% discount is not guaranteed. It's reportedly hard to get, especially at the sold out resorts).

As far as I know, the members' cash discount room does not have to be used in conjunction with a points reservation.

I got a 25% off for OKW for May 9 & 10, called about a month ago. We staying there May 11 to 16 on points. I'm still hoping for a better AP rate, I have a separate thread going about that.

Can someone tell me how this works? Do you ask MS if the resort is available at the Members' discount? Is this a way for members maybe to stay from Monday of one week til Friday of the next week, using points during the week and then cash on weekends with the Members Cash discount? Or if your flight arrives Saturday, you pay for the first night with Member Cash and the rest of the stay with points? Is it all considered one stay where you don't change rooms at all? Sorry for so many questions, but this is all new to me.

You call and ask if the dates are available with a member discount. They put me on hold, I guess to get approval, and then booked it. You do not have to make a deposit but they take your credit card # as a hold. You have to cancel 6 days in advance or they will charge 1 night. You get a DVC confirmation with the room rate rather than points. They told me I would be guaranteed not to change rooms.
