Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

WOW it doesn't even look like it's in the same room. Thanks for the picture. I'm glad we will all fit together. And yeah it's our 4th change too. This one is definititely saving us a bundle! Enjoy your trip!

definitely the best room we've ever stayed in. :thumbsup2 I loved the two tv's for when we were chilling, no arguing. :rotfl: Have fun!

I'm sorry I wasn't able to read through the entire thread but it seems to be right for my question. I hope...

I booked POP/dining/park hopper tix with a PIN I received a couple of days ago. We are thinking of changing to POR now. Will I be able to switch and still keep the PIN discount? Thanks!

So my 3rd switch to GF Sugarloaf this August has been changed. I really wanted GF, but I kept reading posts about BWI, DS 9 saw the pool and was like MOMMY PLEASE I WANT TO GO THERE! My MIL is no longer coming along, sooooooooooooooooooo we are now booked BWI Deluxe Room with the kids free promotion (plus I saved a bunch). I have changed my ticker to a non-resort ticker just in case this isn't the final destination

I am seriously thinking about BWI Deluxe Room but do you have to be on Concierge Level to get a Deluxe room? I like the rooms but don't really want the Club Level.

I don't usually change resorts, but for our January trip (that's in 12 days now), I've changed resorts four times. I think I have a problem. :rotfl:

I started with WL, then AKL, then OKW and this morning I switched to YC! I was so excited to see today on the passholder site a std view room for our dates. :cool1: They previously only had water view rooms, which were $50 more and I just didn't think we needed that. But today my luck changed! I love a bargain and I think $194 a night for YC is just fab! :thumbsup2

Excellent!! My choices for our next trip have increased. We currently booked CR but we are looking at BLT, YC, BC, BWI, BWV, BCV or AKLV. :confused3:scared1: I am very excited about my options!! I'll be here every day until I decide.

Update 12/9: Looks like everyone is MIA from this thread:laughing:.

Ignore my post (like you haven't already:rolleyes1). DD wants to stick with what I already booked - CSR. No changes this trip:thumbsup2.

I've been MIA from this thread for a while. I didn't change my August '10 WDW reservations at all! Well, that's not entirely true:rolleyes1. We were booked at YC/CL, but after one night, we missed the CR so much we went over and they switched us to the Atrium Club for 8 nights. But, I digress.

I need your opinions for our December trip. We (DD and I, DH is deployed:guilty:) will be arriving two weeks from today. A couple of Passholder rates opened-up today and I'd like your opinions.

I am not changing our WL/CV reservation for 8 nights, but we do have 3 nights currently booked at CSR before WL. DD has never stayed there.

In August, we did a split at AKL/Savanna and DD and I loved it. It just came available today with the Passholder discount:scratchin

WL/Courtyard also is now available and that is where we are booked for 8 nights already.

So here are the choices:

~ Stick with CSR for the first three nights.

~ Change to AKL/SV for the first three nights.

~ Change to WL/CV so that we're not doing a split and will have 11 nights there.

TIA - I'm looking forward to everyone's opinion:hyper:

I'm so sorry I've been gone for a while but.....I'm BAAACCCKK!! How was your trip??!!

you'll love that room! We stayed in one in July and it was huge! Here's a pic of just the second half of the room. I couldn't believe how far away my son seemed when he was sleeping. :rotfl:

I am LOVING this room. Again, was it Club level? Where are the 2 televisions? Is there a kitchen? :hyper: I am very excited about possibly booking BWI :yay:

Yes, the BWI deluxe rooms are club level - some are on the 4th floor (club level floor) and others are on the 3rd floor but they all have access to the club facilities :)

I'm rejoining this thread for my upcoming (November) trip - so far my tweaking has surpassed my previous trip tweakings :rotfl: I started off with the GF RPC, then Beach Club garden view CL, Beach Club lagoon view CL, then Wilderness Lodge woods view, then Poly garden view CL (before deciding I'm fed up paying for Disney CL compared to say a higher calibre resort that offers *real* CL), the Swan and finally (well, for the time being anyway lol) Beach Club standard view with deluxe dining (fed up paying for so-so views as well so at least with a standard I know what I'm getting as opposed to paying for an 'upgraded' view, getting a partial view and feeling fed up with wasting a ton of money!), I still have two nights where I need to fix accomodation and I'll probably go for CL for my last 2 nights as I'm happy doing that, just not any longer, just not sure where yet. :rolleyes1

Whew.....you have been BUSY! I am about to do similar changes. My DS16 and my DS 10 were very cramped last year at WL though I LOVE the theming of this resort. We have currently booked CR in a standard view room. I won't pay for upgraded views. We are more interested in the size of the room and would love a balcony. Both boys need their own beds so that leaves us with YC, BC, GF, CR, and Poly since WL and AKL standard bunk bed rooms will no longer accommodate my DS16's long legs. :sad2::sad1: Our other options are any of the villas. We LOVED everything about Kidani but DS would like to try CR which could mean BLT though the standard room would accommodate our family. HOWEVER.......DHS and Epcot are our favorite two parks so I thought an Epcot resort would be the best location. (I have been secretly wanting BC/YC for three years now and this may be my chance). I would not book BWI deluxe because I don't want Club level. I think it is too much money for nothing much. I make my own ADR's (and enjoy doing it), and I have had top notch service always from Disney. We will have the dining plan and wouldn't use the lounge at all. I welcome any and all suggestions, experiences and photos of rooms.....
Let the changing BEGIN!!!! :goodvibes

LOL - I love this thread, we all have the same 'problem' ;) Have you thought about a standard room at the BWI? They're pretty roomy (much more so than WL), and the daybed is a decent size.

I just booked for pop with the kids stay free promo on Monday with QSDP. Dh thinks we should move back up to a moderate and keep the QSDP. I Love Love POFQ but my Dh thinks the kids would like the pool at CBR better. UGh what to do??

I may also change our dates to October if FD comes out for then. Then we would have the regular plan. I missed the booking for September I'm not sure what I was thinking. But I think Dh pefers the QSDP so maybe keep the reservation the way it is and just upgrade the resort? Then to top it off he would pefer October since the weather is not so hot.

So maybe I will just tell him if Fd comes out for Ocotber he can have the CBR but he will have to deal with the RDP.:)

The trip was great! You can probably tell from my ol' ticker that we didn't stay at CSR for the first three nights after all. A Passholder rate opened-up for the CR so we went back there. I didn't change our 8 nights at WL, however, we were upgraded to CL! But, I had nothing to do with that change...

I'm currently (literally) planning our summer trip.

ClareH and Stepdisney, I feel the same way as you about CL. I have found the service and amenities to be inconsistent and the "additional overcharge" hard to substantiate. Plus, my DH loves a nice hot breakfast on vacation.

While the cost difference is negligible for some of the resorts, for example, to upgrade from Savannah View to CL at the AKL is only $24/day more (with our -40% discount), the cost difference from WL Courtyard View to CL is $72/day. So I'm weighing our options and leaning toward a split with AKL/CL for a few nights (DH has never stayed there) and WL/Courtyard. The CR/Tower-BLV (our favorite resort) isn't showing any availability for our dates and I was not impressed with the Atrium Club in August.

Good luck to everyone with all your planning, changes, cancelations and tweaking:thumbsup2. This is half the fun, isn't it?!

This thread is for me. I keep changing my mind between ASMu, ASSports, POFQ and POR. I ended up booking at ASSports because the pin I got made it super cheap, plus it would be nostalgia for me because I stayed in that hotel my first and only time at WDW. I will probably change my mind again. I have 4 months to make a decision. :rotfl:

Does BWI have a daybed and balcony in each room? I hear that BC does not guarantee a daybed unless you have 5 and that some rooms don't have a balcony. If this is true, I may have to opt for BWI. Seriously considering BLT since they have the sleeper chair and the sleeper sofa in the one bedroom. We would love the kitchen for breakfast and since we are on the dining plan we could heat up our left-overs. :goodvibes

The one time I went in October it was very hot....in the upper 90's every day BUT the crowds were good. I would go for the Moderate and the regular dining plan if it comes out for October. We are currently booked for the free dining at CR. For us, there is no better discount.

Please let me know what you love about CR. My DS really wants to stay there. How large are the rooms? We currently have a standard view booked. I really want an Epcot resort this year but he really wants CR and it is his turn to choose......:guilty:

Hello my fellow resort changers! :D

Glad to have a place that feels like 'home'! I am constantly trying to make up my mind between resorts and want to change a million times before we actually get there. Our first trip we changed resorts only once before we got there (blessed restraint!). Our second trip, I did it twice. As you can tell, that restraint is growing weaker and weaker.
On the plus side. I hear the dark side has cookies......

This time, I've been trying to be very good.. DH sees the thread I am on, reads a couple of lines and says. "You know, that's not a bad idea. Maybe we should do some split stays instead of all in one..." :rotfl:

Currently we're booked CL at the Poly for 5 nights. I am currently in indecision if I want to keep CL or not, add the Dxdp or not. Or if we want to break it down and do a split stay.

The current resorts I am thinking about are WL, BCV, YC. Anyone else want to give the suggestions for a possible split stay? I'd love to hear em!

Welcome home OdahLolly. We always leave the light on for fellow resort changers. I am partial to BC and YC as you see I am in the same boat when it comes to possible resorts for our upcoming trip.

I don't do split stays because it makes the ticket and dining situation difficult with the free dining promotion that we are currently booked under. If I were to split stay with Poly, it would be from MK resort to Epcot resort so I'd say YC. This way you would have a guaranteed balcony. Of course my opinion is subject to CHANGE :goodvibes

Please let me know what you love about CR. My DS really wants to stay there. How large are the rooms? We currently have a standard view booked. I really want an Epcot resort this year but he really wants CR and it is his turn to choose......:guilty:

Where to start... You say that you booked a "standard view," which one? There are two: Garden Wing, which is a view of the parking lot or Atrium Club, which is a view of Bay Lake.

We usually always stay in the Tower and only with the BLV - it's our favorite. We love looking out the window and seeing only the water and all the birds around Discovery Island (RIP) and the pool and marina.

The rooms are some of the largest Deluxe resort rooms at about 435 sq. ft. (I think the GF is a little larger at about 440.)

I had booked the YC last August since DH was deployed and couldn't go (he prefers the MK-area resorts). But, after just one night at the Regatta Club, I got the itch to see if we could switch to the CR. I really missed being able to walk to the MK and I love having everything under one roof at the CR (except the laundry which is on the 2nd floor of the GW) and we missed being on the monorail line.

I also missed the rooms. I prefer the soft, Asian-style décor and layout of the CR rooms and the fact that every Tower room has a balcony.

My DD12's favorite arcade is the CR's and she loves the pool, beach and slide. You'll never have to search frantically for a poolside chair like at the Poly and it's much more low key than many of the other Deluxe pools.

Every resort has its pluses and minuses. I've tried all the ones that interest us, but we seem to gravitate back to the CR and the WL.

If you'd like more CR info. or photos, we're real friendly on the CR thread:

And there are many more great photos here:

If there are specific photos you're looking for (other than the laundry room:laughing:), I've pretty much got them all and can post them for you. A couple of my YC/Regatta Club photos are up on the YC/BC thread and the Club Level threads, as well as my Atrium Club and Old Faithful Club photos from last month. If you have any more questions, fire away!

So you're considering a split, huh?

Well, in August we did AKL for 3 nights then YC/CL, but switched after one night to CR/CL for 8 nights. Last month we did 3 nights CR and 8 nights WL/CL. I have no regrets about those splits.

One thing I would say is that I would never do Club Level AND the DxDP - way too much food, IMHO.

Let us know how this unfolds...

:rotfl:

Well, I've been thinking about doing a split day. Even though I'm staying for only 3 nights, I would love to spend just one night at POFQ. I priced it out that it would be $154 for 2 nights at ASSports and $146 for one night at POFQ so the total would be $300. That's $69 more than doing ASSports for all three nights and I'm super tempted to do this. Should I go ahead and do this or wait til I'm 100% positive this is what I want to do?

We are lucky with this one as we have the room discount, so it doesn't matter if we split our stays at all. I can imagine it would be something else if we were going during free dining!

We booked AKL once, canceled. Visited there and all I can is, is that resort is not "us". The CR, and WL.. always held a special place. I've started to moon over YC by some of the pictures that have been posted! :)

Oh no no. I meant if we did a regular room and dropped CL, we'd maybe go with the DxDP. It is totally not affordable for us otherwise unless we're staying at WL CL.. and you are right. It's either a ton of food, or a lot of character breakfasts!

I really wish I had more liberty to switch multiple times like I always do, but I'm dragging the proud grandparents (my parents) along for this trip and it doesn't look like they can afford more than Pop :sad2: Whatever will I do?!
