Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

ClareH and Stepdisney, I feel the same way as you about CL. I have found the service and amenities to be inconsistent and the "additional overcharge" hard to substantiate. Plus, my DH loves a nice hot breakfast on vacation.

Good to know I'm not alone lol I've just come to the stage where I realise I've spent a crazy amount of money on my vacations and I'm not prepared to do it anymore. I know it's Disney and it's not cheap but prices are way out of control for the offerings.

Does BWI have a daybed and balcony in each room? I hear that BC does not guarantee a daybed unless you have 5 and that some rooms don't have a balcony. If this is true, I may have to opt for BWI. Seriously considering BLT since they have the sleeper chair and the sleeper sofa in the one bedroom. We would love the kitchen for breakfast and since we are on the dining plan we could heat up our left-overs. :goodvibes

I'm not 100% certain re the BWI but every room I've had has had a daybed, the new ones are like the GF ones, i.e. larger. All rooms have a balcony or patio, they are larger than the BC step out ones but some are not full size, I also believe from a recent trip report there may a few (literally, no more) rooms without a balcony.

I love, love, love messing around with Disney's online reservation site. I'm always checking different dates, different rooms/resorts, everything. :lmao:

I just got a PIN code for 40% off deluxe rooms & 35% off moderates for Dec 2011. I want to go for 10 days & the pin is great, but it's still a lot of money for my family. I'm thinking about doing a split stay between Coronado Springs & Wilderness Lodge to nudge the costs down a bit, but still stay at WL. My question (finally) is this - can I book a split stay online or do I have to call & do it over the phone?
TIA!

If you call or do it online, there will be two different reservations with two different reservation numbers. If you received a pin code, you would have to call to apply it, you can't use it online. You can use the WDW booking link to book "specials," but there is no place to put your pin code.

When you call and make the two reservations, have them note that it's a "continuing reservation." This means that when reservation #1 ends, reservation #2 begins.

I just booked two separate room-only reservations today and on reservation #1 there is a note that there is a "continuing reservation."

Just curious, what are the December black-out dates for your pin?

While I stand by what I said about CL, today I booked CL at two resorts:rolleyes1. Wait, wait, I can explain!

We usually stay at the CR in the Tower/BLV, however, it's not available for our upcoming stay. Last month, DD and I were upgraded at the WL to CL. I felt the Old Faithful Club, when compared with the Atrium Club and the Regatta Club, did a much better job of keeping the food and beverages replenished and keeping the lounge seating area neat and tidy. I raved about it (especially since it was a free upgrade;)) to my DH who is in Afghanistan and so he thought it sounded pretty good (he's never stayed CL).

Seeing that the WL/CL is the exact same price for us as the CR Tower/BLV non-CL room (if it had been available) and our last WL stay we were upgraded for free and my DH wants to experience it, I booked it.

And, I can explain about the Kilimanjaro Club! DD and I stayed for the first time at the AKL in August while DH was deployed. We LOVED the savannah view room. I want DH to see the resort, too AND the upgrade from SV to CL is only $24/day.

Oh, and it was all 40% off...
:flower3:

BTW, if any of you have stayed CL at the AKL, I would love to hear about your experience! TIA.

That new feature must be part of the upgrade to the reservation system that was completed on December 18th. Thanks for letting us know that now it's possible!

Just curious, where in the online booking process does the ability to put in a pin code appear?

I also use the code online.. However, the code that I received was through e-mail and not a mailer.. I just clicked on my e-mail and it brought me directly to Disney site.. I punched in my dates and it showed me how much the room would be with the discount and it specifically said "room only discount"..

I am doing a split stay in May.. Staying at CSR and then the Poly.. I have never done this before and was just wondering how folks like it? Are they any kinks that i need to figure out ahead of time??

Since mine was in an email, I just clicked "book now" and filled out the information. Someone posted a thread about booking with pins online and posted a link.

Here's the link: http://registration.disneyworld.com...;1128399833;10;02&a=1007&pfx0=000000000000000

Remove the zeros after you click the link and put in your pin and fill the rest of the information out. Hope it works for you!

:lmao::rotfl2: Too funny! We have no method to our madness. We just make reservations and changes. No need to explain. Believe me, we all understand. :goodvibes My DH asked me to make a spead sheet with square footage of room, cost, bed type, and amenities for Poly, GF, CR YC, BC, and then AKL Kidani and BLT. He seems to think that by making a spread sheet, it will eliminate the need to change once we have decided.....:sad2: Silly, Silly Man.....we don't need a reason, we just need options and a little extra time on our hands. :thumbsup2

A "little" extra time? This is my hobby! Oh, and thank you for not judging me:worship:.

Ah, yes! This brings back memories of the spreadsheets (I called them "Pro/Con" lists) I used to generate back when we hadn't stayed in practically every moderate and deluxe. Now that I know how I actually "feel" at the resorts, I have no need for the pro/con list anymore, but I sort of miss them. They were an OC's dream. It seems your DH might be a little WDWOC:thumbsup2, however, he IS willing to relinquish control of the spreadsheet to you. Interesting:scratchin. It's a match made in heaven:littleangel:

That would make me switch MORE! I'd make a decision, book it, then keep looking it over and switching on a whim when I decided another option was better.

I just got another pin. It's the same one I got the other day, but it was sent to a different email. :rotfl: I should use it to book one night at POFQ. I'm still debating on whether I should do a split stay. I hate being poor. :'(

Here are the dates that my pin is good for.
2/27–3/5, 5/8–5/27, 5/31–6/4, 8/21–10/8, 10/23–10/29, 11/13–11/19, 11/27–12/3 and 12/11–12/24/11

Thank you. As I suspected, it isn't good after 12/24.

Alright. So right now I am looking into a possible split stay between VWL/BLT for the first 2 full nights we are there, *if* there is any open. Then doing the Poly for the rest of the stay.

Of course, there may be nothing except SSR, OKW.. in which case, we'll just stay put. :)

Still doing BWI deluxe room. But while surfing the disney discounts, got a great deal on BLT 2 Bedroom BLV. So now we are going Aug 22-Sept 1st. Starting at BWI, then moving to BLT. When we move to BLT we are doing Deluxe dining to make up for no CL lounge. The poor poor Cm....They are very nice to me, she laughed when she saw all my changes. Even I can't keep up anymore:rotfl2:

I do all of my switching before I actually book, although this time I did switch from VWL to WL. I spend weeks dithering about resorts, time frames, etc. etc. so that by the time I actually get around to booking I have second guessed myself out. I love that I am not the only one who makes spreadsheets & pro/con lists. OCD Disney fans unite!:thumbsup2

Changes, add ons, whatever you want to call it....:goodvibes :lmao:

I would do the Deluxe for the entire stay though. Just a thought...;) (don't tell you DH that it was my idea....)

My Excel program is about to explode from all of the changes I've made. I had to stop recently and regroup. We are now considering BCV 1 bedroom so we can enjoy the SAB pool. It is literally location vs. room size now. The rooms at CR are so much bigger than the BC or YC rooms AND they all have balcony and daybeds.....I am still on square one :upsidedow
