It is being reported on Twitter by a reputable source that they will be using Yacht Club, Grand Flo, and Gran Destino. I can’t remember the timeline on play but I think it is to wrap up by the end of September. (someone please correct me, I am not a sports fan so haven’t been watching that too closely). There is no confirmation from Disney (and likely may never be). It is possible though not confirmed that as teams lose they will consolidate players into fewer resorts. All speculation though.

Teams are scheduled to arrive beginning on July 7, with the championship ending as late as October 13.

If you are not DVC, you may be moved to another resort. Although I am not sure where you would go that is not a downgrade since GF is deluxe.

22 teams total, but down to 16 by mid August, 8 by August 30th, 4 by September 15th and 2 by September 28th. If GDT initially holds 8 teams and they do condense, players could be out of GF and YC by Labor Day weekend. IF Disney really intends to get those rooms back into inventory for cash guests as its being reported.

So potentially they are only at Coronado by September. And thank god bc I’m at Poly & BC around Labor Day and I want my pool.

I wonder how long this will last. My cousin and her family have a mid-July stay at Jambo after the parks open. I’ve tried to convince her not to go, but it hasn’t worked. I wish that she would wait and go with us in December.

I don't know if it will be open by then. I"d say for sure by Septmeber but don't know about before then.

I am holding out hope for Jambo opening July 11, both DVC and hotel side. IMO Kidani won't be able to handle all the AKL guests when parks open. And on the hotel side, maybe they need those rooms for guests getting kicked out of GF for the NBA or for other resorts that are not opening.

But after round one, the teams get to reserve up to 17 rooms for players guests. So they may need to keep one of the resorts for that. GF or YC? Close to MK or players? Kids splash pad at GF or SAB at YC? Premier resort or more updated rooms?

Doubt it. That's 8 x 17= 136 rooms. Coronado has enough space. It's 17 rooms per team, not player.

I sure hope so. But will they have enough room in the Gran Destino Tower? The players might want deluxe for their families, not the moderate rooms. We’re supposed to be at YC September 12. After losing Easter week & mid July there, I really want my September trip.

I have noticed that reports of people actually being rebooked to new resorts has completely shut down. This seems to indicate that the CMs are busy being trained on the new system? I hope they get back to it soon! How complicated could it be?

I hear ya! I'm at BCV September 11th... I think they can all fit at GDT (about 500 rooms). But I could also see friends/family being put in other rooms at CSR if need be. Probably would rather have them at the same resort, even if they can't be at the same tower. But even if those family members are at GF or elsewhere, 136 rooms is a drop in the bucket. Pure speculation, but I still am pretty confident YC is devoid of NBA by the end of August.

Ok, this isn't going to help, but I'm feeling confident that "soon" is becoming "very soon." Wish I knew when that would be, but I don't. However, with the NBA information "leaked," there already seems to be a bit firmer of an idea of what the next steps are (that's a definitive change from even this weekend). Here's all I'm going to share:

Value/Mod guests are going to be upset about some things. DVC Members are going to be upset about some things. AP holders are going to be upset about some things.

I just called about my July 18-26 stay at GF. Their system is "undergoing magical enhancements" at the moment so nothing can even be pulled up. CM was confident that I'd be moved to an open resort not cancelled.

Even though I am now cancelled, I'm extremely curious as to just how this will all pan out. By the time this is all over, the only guests that aren't going to be upset are those that are willing to take whatever Disney decides on, regardless of the losses. Mostly I'm looking to find just something that will make me want to go back. Just toss me a bone Disney, anything! I'm AP, but always on site so I don't really fit in any of the going to be upset categories. Hope springs eternal!

Someone said on another thread they were told value/mod will be offered 35% to change resorts to an open one of their choosing. I already had 35% for free dining but would like to be able to choose the resort I'm moved to so would definitely prefer that to the "no choice" moves they've been doing for mod guests to date.

I noticed that in MDE, next to my August reservation it previously said "to cancel, call [phone number]" and now says "to change or cancel, call [phone number]." Good sign!!!!! I am going to be on edge all day.

I don't believe for a second they are going to offer a general 35% discount to anyone with a reservation that needs moved and especially if they change dates. Right now, keep your date, no increase in price, no choice of resorts. Move your date and you pay rack rate. I don't expect that to change.

OMG, mine says the same thing. It’s definitely a change from yesterday when it just said “cancel.” Could it mean something??

My disney experience doesn’t say anything about change, cancel or modify. In fact it still shows the free dining plan. My dates are July 7-14.
