Resort Change by Disney

I still haven't gotten an email with an updated confirmation/total for one of my reservations that Disney removed the dining plan from yesterday. Gotta love the inconsistency. It's basically the only consistent thing lately.
I changed my July reservation back in early May. I extended it and changed resorts. Never received an email confirmation with the new resort, dates and total.

Forward to the Great-Resort-and-Parks-Change-of-2020. My reservation was adjusted to take off the Free Dining Plan and apply the 35% off. You would think I would get an updated email confirmation for that? Nope. Noticed it in MDE. Still have not received a confirmation.

But, I have two other reservations in September and December and received email confirmations when they dropped off the Free Dining Plan. Clearly, they have the ability to send email confirmations. Not sure why it doesn't always happen. :confused3

May be worth checking your communication preferences in MDE.

What the heck? I haven’t checked my email in a few days and just found this: 1) We never booked CSR. 2) We did book the Riviera for those dates. We also have a back up reservation for those dates at the YC,CL. 3) I have spoken to no one at WDW 4) CSR is not showing up in my plans and lastly, why would I be moved at all? Riviera is a a DVC and a move from a 1 br villa to CSR would not cut it. Anyone else get something weird like this?

The CSR reservation is a header on the Riviera reservation. The original email was dated May 08, the day I made the reservation. That CSR header was not in that email. Color me confused!
Nope, nothing that weird. When they took off the Free Dining Plan on Saturday, I had my December reservation downgraded from CL Tower at CSR to a Standard room at CSR . Not even a Tower room! Yeah, they moved me from the most expensive, non-suite room to the cheapest non-suite room. I need to call back and inquire about it, but have been super busy and don't want to hold on the phone to adjust something that cannot be adjusted now, since it's not within the dates they are modifying, and I don't even know at this point if we're going in December. But, yes, there is some weird stuff going on with all these modifications.

Thank you, that's a good suggestion, but I had my communication preferences checked when we were waiting for the AP SWGE *and* I have received 2 other email confirmations for two other modified trips, so I know the issue is not on my preferences.

I am already booked at the FW Cabin, so it is hard to understand.

Actually, that is probably why. You are not at a closed resort so your reservation is not effected. You can still visit on your dates.

Or did you want to change dates and pay the difference? If that is the case, I’d call back

take this with a grain of salt but this is interesting!

EDIT: pop century merch has been called back according to the OP.
So...this could mean POP is opening. Or, devil's advocate here, they need merch workers elsewhere and that is why they are called back.

Seeing that they have moved people from POP through dates into early July, I don’t think it would be opening any earlier than that,

And, they called back CMs to The Mara at Jambo House and that building is not opening.

I think the Mara staff will handle the QS they are setting up at Kidani at the pool bar and lounge. They may also work the Sana’a Breakfast.

The Pop team might be needed to prep other areas. There will be a ton of work to do to get the NBA space set up in less than a month.

Although I didn't love POP the one time I stayed there I would be thrilled to change from Kidani to POP for purely financial reasons... more in line with my ASMovies stay I originally booked.

I know it doesn't mean they're definitely going to open any specific date but it sure would be nice if we could move there instead. (July 15-19). I can at least have hope.

Sorry, did I miss something? I booked Jambo house savannah view from a dvc owner today for 7/20-7/23.

There are questions of whether or not it will be open. There are DVC owners booking it and guests being moved because it won’t be open. No one really knows for sure.

So just had a baseball reunion with boys that I have coached from 8 thru graduation...2 of my former kids who work at CBR have been told to report back to work on July 11th for reopening. They told me the resort is opening and they will resume work then. I asked if it was in support of Riveria, and they said no, it is for CBR...So maybe some good news for those booked at a moderate hotel. I asked them if they knew of any other resorts, but they said they are kinda in a bubble...they work with who the work with and not sure about other resorts.

You did not miss anything, LOL. Another email basically saying #SOON and #AreYouSureYouSTILLWanttoCome

Are your flights from the UK still scheduled? Have they been arriving at MCO?
My flight has been cancelled, but luckily I booked a back up trip for October, just before WDW closed down the reservation system. I am still holding a YC CL reservation from 12 to 19 July, just in case WDW offer something. Doubtful I know.
Wales is still in lockdown, so at the moment, I should not even travel to England to reach the airports. Police are stopping people at the border and turning people back, fining them etc. Many British Airways aeroplanes are ‘parked’ at Cardiff International Airport. I count the tail fins from a distance during my dog walks and they seem to be increasing rather than decreasing! No passenger flights from the U.K. show as arriving at MCO yet.

I don’t think that is correct. I believe I read that reservations can be made at Jambo House again. I believe I was reading about DVC rooms. The speculation was that perhaps this happened after the soccer group confirmed that they have Swan and Dolphin. I have not personally checked the DVC member website to confirm.

If they weren't closed then why would they move me? I was in a villa to start with at Jambo. I was told on 2 calls by different CM's Jambo would be closed.

I think you are confusing me with another poster. My trip is at the end of July so I have no idea how mine will be handled. I do know that we won’t be paying rack rates at deluxe or for FW cabins.
I think they are working on reservations to July 11th. It won’t be long til they get to yours.

That is awesome! We are booked at CBR in August. I’m so happy to hear this!
