Resort Change by Disney

I’m not sure how many people are in your party, but the free dining recovery only required a two day ticket with no hopper. It would have only cost just over $200 per person for tickets.

6 of us so that’s 1200 for something we don’t need. That’s as much as we’d be saving. I have a voucher I haven’t been able to activate and a drawer full of 1 day passes given as compensation years ago I’ll most likely never use. I don’t need more tickets.

I just called to see what would happen. The cast member was very friendly. She removed the dining package from my stay. My stay is July 9 through the 14th, All Stars. She told me that my resort will not be open. She offered to let me modify or cancel and I told her that I would wait to see if they open up my dates to be transferred to another resort. She said that she could do that, asked me a few questions and then put me on hold to connect to the special team. She came back two minutes later and apologized saying that she was unable to switch me at this time but to call back soon when they open up more dates.

Does that include a 35% discount? I figure they are going to attempt to make me move or give up my tickets since our check in is 7/10. I am trying to figure out if we can afford the move. We aren’t booked on free dining so not sure if we would get the 35% off or not.

Finally got an answer. Not what I wanted to hear though. Grand Villa OKW $1835. No park tickets and no guarantee of being able to buy them.....just need 2 or 3 days of tickets for 4 people.

So for now I didnt do anything will probably cancel totally, but cannot bring myself to do that just yet.

Thats what I'm confused about. We are 7-15, but will be moving our dates.
Sorry, I posted that this morning and then my day 'exploded' so just now getting back on. I've not read any further so maybe this is all clear now, but yes, you have to be departing by July 11 to be included.

That seems to have changed since this AM...several posts of people checking out later and being moved.

I guess I see it differently. That $1200 you needed to pay, now feeds your family of 6 for up to two weeks.

As an added bonus, whether you need them or not, you have tickets that don’t lose their value, which can be used in the future as is, or can be upgraded towards an AP or a 10 day ticket.

Wait, WHAT??? They let you keep your 35% off? I bet that is gonna make a lot of people MAD who wanted to move their dates but we’re told they have to pay RACK RATE if they did so (the June 22-July 4 crew)!!!!

Don’t get me wrong I’m glad you could! But we are talking crazy levels of inconsistency now. I think I’ve heard everything !! (But then again I bet it gets crazier!!!)
This has been my exact point!!!! 35% off and date flexibility.

Great for them but seriously Disney?

Currently on hold as they try and figure out what to do with us or what we want to do. Originally scheduled for Music from 7/5 to 7/14 with free dining and 5 day park hoppers. 4 Disney adults (1 adult and 17 year old triplets)

If we change our dates to 7/11 to 7/19 we can pay an extra $1500 and have Copper Creek (we cannot afford that plus food)
Then they transferred me to someone else who can work on ideas to keep our original dates. She was offering the grand villa at okw. Didn't get as far as prices as she also said we have to give up our park tickets. We cannot change them to less days and no hopper or anything. Have to give them up totally with no guarantees of being able to buy any once we get to Florida. So no reservations for parks for our last three days and no tickets.

So currently trying to find out what our price would be for a resort only vacation. Will probably cancel. So far on these calls 1 hour 20 minutes.

Wait, what!? You could not drop off the hoppers or take out a day or two? Modifications are really limited :-(

I understand that getting all these reservations changed and creating the new park reservation system has to be absolutely monumental.

But, they really need to come out and provide more info on the park reservations system and what we will need on our end to get 'first dibbs,' confirm or deny whether park hopping will be allowed, extend APs, and let guests know what attractions will be operating in July.

It's pretty tough to make a decision about a vacation in a month or so, missing key info.

I would try another phone rep, they should at least be able to move you for your original dates.

No tickets at all if I keep my dates of 7/5 to 7/14. Originally had 5 day hoppers. Asked to reduce to 3 day base and was told no tickets at all have to give them up.

Why would people have to give up tickets if a park will be open??

ETA -at least let them adjust tix to days parks will be available. It’s not like they are trying to add on tix!!!

I just got off the phone. Our reservation is 7/8-7/22. The CM I spoke to put me on hold for about 25 minutes. She came back on and said she was talking to guest services. She said they are going to review our reservation and call us back, as they had others they had to call back first. 🤷‍♀️

When calling the recording does say they are dealing with reservations with a check out date through July 11. I only called to see what they would say since there was another report of someone being changed with a checkout date past July 11.

ETA: I also have a reservation starting July 11, I didn't ask about that one. (I made several reservations in hopes that we get to be there when they opened.)

I'll update if I get a call.
In the same boat here. We are July 5-17. I did get the 35% taken of from our free dining booked in January, and had our tickets reduced from 10 day hoppers to 6 day standard. We are waiting on a call back from guest services. The CM did say that if the move works how he is thinking, we are going to be "very spoiled".

Ooohh "very spoiled" sounds good. Keep us posted. What resort are you currently booked at?
