Resort Change by Disney

There have been some on this board who have. And prior to this mess, I have had silent holds that have been answered. It just feels like nothing is ever going to happen.
Just so frustrating! Any pause in the music and I get excited...then, nothing!

This morning I dialed for 2 hours before finally getting the recorded menu. Then I was on hold for 3 hours to get a CM - she was super helpful and got my mom's reservation moved from CS to FW Cabins, but then when we tried to move my sister's (haven't even gotten to mine yet!) literally every room was showing unavailable at every resort - so I am now on hold to talk to GS.

I haven't heard of anyone getting through after the...silence. Hung up and called back...I am on Hold once again with music! I have been at this since 7 am and 7 hours on Monday...
I had a silent hold on Monday night for over 2 hours and a CM picked up. I about hung up on her b/c it shocked me.

I got through after silence. Unfortunately, they would online transfer me to the regular reservation line in which I am currently holding. I had dialed the 6413 number. (Looks like that is no longer an option)

Sorry about that. They seem to be learning the secret numbers we have to call in on and are changing their process.

What number are you guys calling? The one I received from a CM on live chat for a “resort specialist” just has a busy tone every time my TA calls.

I called this morning and was able to get one from CB after 3 hrs and 52 min! Go get em'! 👍

Wait, seriously? I was booked at POR 8/21-25 and got changed to CB, but now that I'm looking at CB I'd like to at least TRY for a deluxe resort... called yesterday and they said no, but I think it depends who you talk to?

I have been lurking this thread for tips since Monday.

I called in using both the 7866 & 1936 number. I had success with 7866. After attempting to get through off an on for 5 hours (only getting busy most of the time) I connected on 7866. talking to a CM and a short wait on hold for confirmation, my total call time was 8 1/2 minutes.

We got switched from ASMo to AoA little mermaid standard. Dates are Oct 26-30.

Saga over (for now)!

I tried calling three different numbers over the past three days. The one that ended up being successful was the standard 407WDisney (5277). After the music cut out at hour two, CM Calvo picked up 35 minutes later (scared the crap out of me). He took my information, noted my closed resort and then put me on hold again. I was only on hold for a few minutes until he came back.

My Sept 6-13 ASMu Standard reservation changed to POP Standard. He filled out the price protection form and told me that the new total will show higher, but that it will change back to the original price in 1-2 weeks after the price protection goes through

I asked about the park hoppers, he told me to wait on taking off the park hopper until after the price protection goes through because if it's done before that goes through, it will negate the price protection. I thought that was interesting.

Now to wait for my ADR window to open.

I'm so conflicted! POFQ 12/1-12/5. I've seen a lot of people getting moved from POR/POFQ into deluxe resorts (some with no rate change) today, and some getting moved into other mods both with and without rate changes... not sure if I'd be better off trying to move now, or waiting until closer to our trip to see what they're doing by then... Waiting runs the risk of limited or no availability to move to if POFQ doesn't reopen - but could it increase the chances of getting moved into a deluxe with no rate change?? My TA doesn't know what my options are at this point (until Sunday she thought we were getting moved into DVC) and said to just wait for a while.

So basically, if you decide to volunteer as data point like @Sunnywho suggested  please let us know what you decide to do and what happens if you move now!

Ughhhh okay I think I'm going to beg my TA to call and at least see what they offer. Thank you for sharing this!

Well, she originally thought we’d get moved into a DVC Resort Monday, and was planning to call for us Monday to find out which one. Then the list came out Sunday, so she was going to call on Monday to see what our options were. Then Monday morning she said she wasn’t going to call about ours just yet since our trip isn’t until December and we’ve got time to see what happens, since anything could. :confused3 No one really knows what the “right” answer is right now, and I certainly don’t fault her logic on waiting.

We do want to stay at POFQ so I don’t necessarily mind waiting to see if it opens, but there are a couple of bucket list deluxe resorts we’d jump at the chance to move to if the rate doesn’t change.

Waiting has been our plan, but I keep reading reports from people with trip dates as late as ours getting moved to deluxe because that’s what’s available now. It’s just ALL OVER the place, as always with Disney. I’m emailing her today just to reiterate my concerns and to let her know the reports I’ve been reading, so maybe she’ll at least call and see what they offer.

Edited to correct word usage

A slight update that isn't really informative, lol...

Reached out to my TA this morning to ask if she would at least find out what options we might have for our move right now, and told her I've seen reports here from people who have been moved from mods to deluxes with no rate change.

Just got a response. She basically confirmed that the "matrix" that CMs were given yesterday ended any pixie dust upgrades. Now CMs can only make comparable lateral moves unless that resort category is full, and she said they're actively discouraging any late-2020 changes now. Also the phones have been closed all day so she hasn't been able to get through to make any changes today.

So I guess we keep on waiting to see if POFQ opens up later on!

Hmmm. Wonder if they realized they needed to open more resorts.

Maybe you both transferred it in time before they caught it?
(I was going to check on Monday but after the park reservations and the phone calls about the resort, I didn't have it in me anymore that day lol)
Could be because i transfered it within a couple minutes

Absolutely! We were at FQ 9/7-13, got moved to CB and charged more for it (even standard was over $120 more) but thought I had no choice but to pay. Heard about the price protection here yesterday and was like "what the heck!" Got nowhere yesterday after 5 hrs on hold, so called again this morning to at least get the price protection, and got an upgrade!! I wasn't even asking about it but the CM said we absolutely shouldn't have been charged more and put us at Poly!
