I'm wondering if anyone knows how it works if you're a dvc member, but want to use cash only for reservations.
My family and I were thinking of staying a long w/e inorder to see ssr our selves. The problem being we plan on banking this years points to bring my brother and family next year.

Does anyone know if as dvc members we get any type of discount on cash ressies or any other privileges?

Thanks::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

I would call both member services and CRO (407-W-DISNEY) to see if any cash rooms are available. Member Services will sometimes have discounted rooms available if they anticipate they will not be booked for points. It might be difficult since not all of the rooms at SSR have been declared into member inventory. If you have an annual pass, CRO may have a discounted room if you are going before 8/28/04. If you are a member of AAA, ask about that discount.

You could also call Member Services to see if any rooms available at DVC resorts for the weekend in question with the 25% DVC member discount. We were able to get discounted cash rates at BWV a not more than 9 months out.

The DVC member discount is only good at DVC resorts and only if they have the inventory available (ie rooms to rent at that rate). But when you get it, it's a pretty good deal for weekend nights.

As members we can get a 25% discount on DVC accommodations if booking cash thru member services -- IF THEY HAVE IT AVAILABLE. Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't. Call MS and ask if and what is available if any and I'd also 2nd calling CRO to see if they have anything available and with what discounts if any - MS and CRO book thru 2 separate inventories - One may have availibility and not the other or both may have availibility and one may be less expensive than the other so you should call to compare prices in the event that both have them available. Being that SSR is so new there may not be availibility thru either though:rolleyes:

Anyway, I'd call both and see what's what if anything and which would be the better way to go. Good luck!

THANKS it's so great to know I come here with a question and get such great suggestions as well as my questions answered!!!!!

Thanks again I'm going to go call now.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:
