Has anyone planned a reservation at Tony's just to be able to watch the parade from there?
I'm not real sure if it is even possible. I know they have outdoor seating. If we are not able to get a table outside or if it is to hot outside can you see the parade out of the windows?
Has anyone done this without paying for the dining package?
We planned to eat at Tony's anyway so I thought maybe we could time it around the parade time.
Any advice on timing would be great or is this a bad idea?

We ate outside at Tony's back in December 2016 when the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Parade was coming through. Before we were seated we placed a request for outdoor seating, saying we would wait if we needed too (no rush), and they accommodated us without any problems. I'm sure if you were seated inside, closer to the windows, you could see the parade above everyone's heads outside, but it wouldn't be the best view. I would try to book a reservation for a half hour before the parade begins since it starts in Frontierland, which would give you plenty of time to be seated and before it reaches Main Street.

I may also be in the minority, but we really enjoyed our meal there. However, me and my family are extremely easy to please when it comes to food, so you might want to take that into consideration. ;)

We did it a long time ago. We had a great view of the parade. Only thing I regret is that my child was small at the time and because we were not up close, the characters and dancers did not seem to have as much interaction with him (eye contact).

Thank you. Yes I have read plenty of bad reviews about Tony's but we are going to try it anyway. We are not real picky and my teen loves the choices on the menu.

We ate at Tony's on the porch to watch a parade and loved it (and the Tiramisu beat Mama Melrose's hands down). We loved that we were raised above those who were standing on the sidewalk waiting on the parade. We also didn't know that they send CM's to stand at the door entrances to the porch area and will not allow guests from inside the restaurant to come out and crowd around the tables on the porch. This strategy worked well for us.

Find a better place to eat and camp out to watch the parade.
Just not a fan of Tonys. We've tried several times and we always come out disappointed If you must go, avoid the red sauce..

We like Tony's. The menu change this year was a good improvement. The ravioli was one of the best things I had all week!

Eating at Tony's is always a bad idea.

1) How true!
2) As for the outside seats,
. . . they are highly prized and really tough to get before a parade
. . . people can stand in front of you.
. . . only the higher parts of floats are viewable - the marchers and ground sights are not seen due to crowds
3) If you hope for a patio seat, don't get it, and leave, you get the $10/person Penalty Fee.
4) Tony's might be a good idea, but
. . . from a food-quality aspect it is bad.
. . . from a possible patio seat, it is seldom do-able

If you haven’t tried Tony’s in a while, you might want to give it another chance.
Our party of four tried Tonys parade package for an excellent last minute parade viewing spot last month. The reserved viewing is near the flagpole and gave us a view of the whole parade coming up Main Street from the castle until it was right there in front of us completely unobstructed. The restaurant service was wonderful. The food hot and delicious. The salads we chose as an appetizer were huge, very fresh, beautiful, and high quality. The complimentary bread service was hot and bakery quality. Our delicious pasta dishes were served very hot. The tiramisu dessert was huge, fluffy, and the best I ever had. We all hadn’t been to Tony’s in years. We all said it was the best meal we ever had in Disney World.

Thank you for posting. I will go check out the package it may be better to do that. We have not seen the afternoon parade in years.

I hate to say this but we ended up getting a refund on our meal. The food was horrible! This is the second time I have been there and i’m done. If you want to spend good money on a meal try someplace else.

My family's most recent experience with Tony's is why I religiously research Disney food reviews (including the Dis first and foremost) I definitely learned my lesson, here. Tony's is simply inexcusably disgusting and should have been closed and possibly even condemned years ago.

You're money would be better spent on an Uber to and from olive garden on Vineland Road. That is NOT a joke, unfortunately.

Oh wow I have heard so many bad reviews. I'am thinking about maybe making reservations at Liberty Tree instead. What time does the parade go by there? We could eat and then go out to watch the parade.

You are so right! Olive Garden and this coming from a true Italian is a 10 compared to this place. We can only offer our thoughts. I would definitely skip this restaurant!

The parade will pass here a little after the parade start time. LTT is one of our must do restaurants...we love it that much. I'd actually pick that over Tony's if given the choice, but I still enjoyed my meal there. Maybe we just got really lucky when we ate there or maybe my taste buds aren't that sophisticated, but just remember that if you pick LTT you won't be able to watch the parade pass by while you're eating.
