Resale shopping again.. my heart wants one thing but my head says another. Give your opinions.

I won't lie that I do think of this as a possibility but if it gives you any comfort the system Disney purchased is very robust and in use all over. My son and I actually watched this the other day (we are both big transportation nerds - boats, trains, rockets.... we love them all).

Might give you some comfort.

I'd also add that when I was at WDW in April the Monorails had a lot of problems and were stopping and broke down for lengthily periods all over the loops.

I might say I'd prefer the Skyliner cabin with just my family having a fun swinging time vs being stuck in a cabin of angry families with the "unique outhouse smell" that most of the monorails have......
1) Walking
2) Boat
3) Bus
4) Everything else

Only travel when the weather is usually under 80 degrees.

Great list when the kiddos are older and the stroller is gone. We are very close to this and left our stroller in the villa for 80% of our WDW trip which makes playing the boat gamble so much nicer. Also makes getting on and off the bus a more pleasant experience for sure.

This spring trip to WDW was so much better than summer. I think we will be very keen to take the kids out of school for an extra week as long as the schools continue to not give us as hard of a time for the years to come.....

I have to admit, I think the gondolas are great fun and very convenient---though I also mostly travel in the Not Storm Season. I guess that's why Baskin-Robbins has 31 flavors.
My family loves the feeling of "getting in a ride" before even getting to a theme park. I wish the Skyliner would be expanded to connect more places, but I doubt it'll happen--I'm surprised it ever did

I am also in the camp of wanting to buy at beach club or boardwalk and being very hesitant about the fact that it expires in 2042. If you buy bay lake tower or something else with a long contract you will still be able to sell it in 15 years and get a chunk of it back. Who knbows how much - but surely some of it, maybe more then you spent. If you (or I) buy at a 2042 contract - in 15 years you wont get much if anything back for it. I would assume at that point you would sell the points if anything, not the contract. SO - it needs to be a good enough price that you're literally just using it for those 15 years of vacations. Surely BLT is a better financial choise - but what is a better happiness choice and are you making enough other good financial choices that on this one, you can invest in what will make you happiest? There is also the fact that points go a lot further at beach club/boardwalk then they do at bay lake or any of the monorail resorts. Try looking at a specific pretend vacation you can see yourself taking dates and days - and then use the point charts to see what it will cost you in points. Likely it would be a much cheaper points vacation at Boardwalk then at baylake. SO - at that point doesnt it feel like your boardwalk points are literally worth more than your baylake points - at least in the short term for the next 16 years or so? Thats what I am telling myself. I think at this point I would jump on boardwalk or beach club if I could get it at a good resale price (and none of these stripped contracts)
So I saw a 200 point contract august use year with full 2025 and 2026 points for $105 per point and I jumped on it. I had been thinking I would consider contracts $110 and under - and not consider anything stripped since it's only til 2042 already. I would rather have had a 100 point or 150 point, but I am sure i wont have a hard time selling any extra points. I worry I am being too impulsive, but Ive been shopping around and this seemed like a good deal.

There are persistent rumors that plans are to build one on the AK-AKL-CSR side of the World, with a connection to DHS. The Skyliner is so much more efficient at moving hordes of guests than buses are that I wouldn't be surprised to see it expanded.

Same. It scares me almost as much as the Pixar Pal a Round at DCA. So I take them as comparable
