We are still going next week, I am somewhat glad that I am a bit sour on DVC at the moment for various reasons. Maybe this will combat the addonitis.

Word to the wise when you return from a trip high on pixie dust don't make any big decisions in regards to DVC or Disney. I should give myself a rule to not be allowed to touch my DVC account, this board, aggregators or broker websites for 3 weeks after I return home from a trip.

So I emailed my guide to ask if I can tour Poly whenever without an appt. He said just any day 12:30-1:30, no offers to come meet me etc.. which I am happy about, but then again why not?? hahaha

Just a bunch of things all at once that got me a bit sour.
MS reallocated some points for me and messed things all up and points are being used from an upcoming year that were not before. Now I am missing 2 points and they cant seem to locate them.
My all time favorite home resort VGC just got its hard goods refurbishment and they didn't touch the bathrooms, which are more important to me than any other part of the room.
The last thing was just seeing many complaints on other social platforms about check in not happening until 6pm or later and other things, which I know I should take with a grain of salt since people love to complain on the internet. And while everyone is entitled to their opinion and feelings it's disheartening when many members just make excuses for DVC/Disney rather than holding them accountable for their shortcomings.

True I think you have to work our way up to not being the ones you get when you just chat in. Seasoned guides I think sell a lot to current owners who know what they want and know all the highs and lows of DVC

Well here I am again. I said I would not be here, but I knew better. Im sure you all did too! I have known for a while I need more points at WDW since a bulk of my points are on the west coast.

I have always been a buying 2042 is not a good choice financially. My husband was also against it. Well after a trip to WDW we fell head over heels for Crescent Lake, especially BW. And much to my surprise my husband gave the green light on buying BW.

I own 100 points at CCV. We bought CCV because it made a really good choice value wise. And I do not regret it at all. It has been a great little SAP contract for us. It has also held its value which is amazing. So why would I sell it? It's crazy right? I dont see myself loving it all that much when we do stay especially since December is likely not to be a time in which we visit, when the resort really shines.

My recent trip had me realizing we are not bus people and never will be bus people. So minimizing the need for a bus is the highest priority for us. I adore Crescent lake. We love the vibe. We love the transportation options and we LOVED the theming at BWV. My husband doesn't think we will like BLT the way we do BW but he also is pretty nervous about the 2042 expiration. Financially BLT makes the most sense. Calculations I came up with would be a cost of $11.10pp at BLT and $14.23pp at Boardwalk, in 10 years BLT will obviously still hold some value but will BW?

I am kind of over having multiple contracts even if within the same use year, so I was considering selling CCV 100 and buying 150-175 elsewhere.

Should I slow my roll and just wait to see how I like my trip in August at Wilderness Lodge?
Should I go with my heart and go for it with BWV?
Should I make the best financial choice in BLT since it is walkable to MK and that is huge for us.
Should I just keep CCV, book what I can at BW at 7 months and pony up for Minnie Vans to MK?
Is there is a resort thats a good compromise you think Id love and should consider over BW or BLT?

With all that said I am needing to plan a trip in a 2 bedroom for Feb 2026 so if Im buying BLT/BWV I would like to hopefully get in before 7 months hits.

I am also in the camp of wanting to buy at beach club or boardwalk and being very hesitant about the fact that it expires in 2042. If you buy bay lake tower or something else with a long contract you will still be able to sell it in 15 years and get a chunk of it back. Who knbows how much - but surely some of it, maybe more then you spent. If you (or I) buy at a 2042 contract - in 15 years you wont get much if anything back for it. I would assume at that point you would sell the points if anything, not the contract. SO - it needs to be a good enough price that you're literally just using it for those 15 years of vacations. Surely BLT is a better financial choise - but what is a better happiness choice and are you making enough other good financial choices that on this one, you can invest in what will make you happiest? There is also the fact that points go a lot further at beach club/boardwalk then they do at bay lake or any of the monorail resorts. Try looking at a specific pretend vacation you can see yourself taking dates and days - and then use the point charts to see what it will cost you in points. Likely it would be a much cheaper points vacation at Boardwalk then at baylake. SO - at that point doesnt it feel like your boardwalk points are literally worth more than your baylake points - at least in the short term for the next 16 years or so? Thats what I am telling myself. I think at this point I would jump on boardwalk or beach club if I could get it at a good resale price (and none of these stripped contracts)

I own direct personally but its a very specific need on why you buy direct.

I have been in sales as part of my career but the thing is I worked for/with industry leading companies for products companies actually needed to function. I would have went to law school or move companies if I had to push product for the sake of selling something of no value.

Walk from Poly to VGF
Boat or Monorail from VGF to TTC to Epcot Monorail (You cannot boat from GF to TTC. The boat is a tiny loop (GF > Poly > MK). You have to take the resort monorail from GF to TTC (GF > MK > CR > TTC) and then transfer to the Epcot monorail line. You can honestly walk from VGF back to Poly, get some cool air and a break in GCH, and then head over to the other side of the resort by the DVC longhouses and walk to TTC and just go directly to the Epcot monorail line.
Spend some time at Epcot
Bus or Monorail to from MK to BLT (There is no bus from Epcot to MK. You need to take the Epcot monorail line to TTC. You can jump on the Express line to MK (Express only goes TTC to MK and back) and then walk to BLT, take the Resort line and stop directly at CR (TTC > Poly > GF > MK > CR), or take the ferry boat from TTC to MK and then walk to BLT (you could also take the Resort monorail line one stop). If you want to avoid the Epcot monorail and leave via the International Gateway you can walk to an Epcot resort and then bus to MK and walk to BLT or take the Resort monorail line one stop.

Day 2
Checkout and Bus from BLT to HS
Spend some time at HS
Skyliner to RIV by 1:30 for tour (You need to take the DHS Skyliner to the Caribbean Beach Skyliner "hub" and transfer to the Epcot line. Riviera is the first stop)
Bus from RIV to DS
Boat from DS to SSR (You can also walk depending on where you want to go at SSR and where you will be at DS)
Bus from SSR to MK (Fair warning SSR has an internal bus loop)
Boat from MK to CCV (There is also a bus to WL from MK. You can also walk to CR and then take the "blue flag" boat from CR to WL. This boat runs starting around 3pm now that it has returned from the closures in 2020. You can confirm this time the day prior while staying at BLT if you really wanted to try it out)
Dinner at CCV by 9:00

Day 3
Boat from CCV to Ft Wilderness and CFW tour if available also to see Ft Wilderness grounds (FW is huge and the boat launch is on the opposite side of the cabins. You will need to take the internal bus loop for the resort to get from the boat launch to the cabins. This is why people rent golf carts at FW.)
Boat to MK (You can also take a bus from FW to MK. If you are going back to WL instead of spending time in MK you are probably better off taking the bus to cut out time. FW shares bus service with WL. FW is the first stop. I am not as familiar with the times this occurs since I do not frequent FW and WL much, but the mornings usually have dedicated bus service so past 9am-ish you are most likely sharing. Someone should confirm this though.)
Boat to CCV pickup luggage
Leave for flight at 3pm

No problem!

GCH is Poly's Great Ceremonial House/lobby. It's the central point at the resort so you can cut through there and get a drink or a Dole Whip and continue the walk to TTC.

Understood about SSR! You want to see the good and bad everywhere.
