How much luck have you had trying to book BW at the 7 month mark? We own there so we book much earlier but there are certainly some times when it seems it can be booked at the 7 month mark. The 2042 date isnt great but if you dont have to rush into a purchase you can just throw some darts until you find something that makes a little more financial sense while getting that peace of mind for a place you enjoy staying. The BW location I think is much better than BLT for transportation purposes and your points will go much further at BW than BL.

That's relative to what someone wants out of their trip. BLT is walking distance to MK, and the monorail loop and boat to WL give it access to lots of resort restaurants. Then the bus loop at MK provide easy access to all onsite resort restaurants. This is pretty nice for someone who's been to WDW a lot and wants to try different dining. But I know OP wants to avoid buses, so it all depends!

Just compared all the resorts for Feb in a 2 bed. BWV saves around 10 points a night over a 5 night stay that is a lot of savings.

Something to consider - 2Br any view at BWV will be tough most times of the year since they don’t have dedicated 2brs…even at 11 months, depending on when you want to go, you may have to settle for Pool/Garden view unless you want to start walking a reservation.

Interesting. I need to learn the little things like this. I did notice only lock offs but I didn’t really stop to think about how that affects bookings.

With that being said, at 11m - 1 day you can pick up what you want a lot of the time based on what I have been tracking.

Best to expect a Garden View room based on numbers.

It sounds like you want BWV. I would probably start throwing out lowball offers and hope one sticks.

If you could possibly wait to buy until after your next trip? Book BLT with your CCV points so you get to try it? Since you already have CCV points that you use as SAP you probably don’t want BLT points you are stuck with after finding out you still like BW better.

We happen to LOVE BLT but we spend a lot of time at MK. We were there last year on one of the only 10/10 crowd level days at MK. After the fireworks, the boat and monorail lines were insane. We happily walked right past the mobs and did the short walk back to BLT. We drive to the other 3 parks.

We stayed at BWV on our last trip and really loved it too. We just don’t spend much time at Epcot and find it easy to drive to HS. If you end up liking BLT enough, perhaps buy there and use the points for your 2 bedroom stays and stay at BW when you need a 1 bedroom, which are typically available.

Well here I am again. I said I would not be here, but I knew better. Im sure you all did too! I have known for a while I need more points at WDW since a bulk of my points are on the west coast.

I have always been a buying 2042 is not a good choice financially. My husband was also against it. Well after a trip to WDW we fell head over heels for Crescent Lake, especially BW. And much to my surprise my husband gave the green light on buying BW.

I own 100 points at CCV. We bought CCV because it made a really good choice value wise. And I do not regret it at all. It has been a great little SAP contract for us. It has also held its value which is amazing. So why would I sell it? It's crazy right? I dont see myself loving it all that much when we do stay especially since December is likely not to be a time in which we visit, when the resort really shines.

My recent trip had me realizing we are not bus people and never will be bus people. So minimizing the need for a bus is the highest priority for us. I adore Crescent lake. We love the vibe. We love the transportation options and we LOVED the theming at BWV. My husband doesn't think we will like BLT the way we do BW but he also is pretty nervous about the 2042 expiration. Financially BLT makes the most sense. Calculations I came up with would be a cost of $11.10pp at BLT and $14.23pp at Boardwalk, in 10 years BLT will obviously still hold some value but will BW?

I am kind of over having multiple contracts even if within the same use year, so I was considering selling CCV 100 and buying 150-175 elsewhere.

Should I slow my roll and just wait to see how I like my trip in August at Wilderness Lodge?
Should I go with my heart and go for it with BWV?
Should I make the best financial choice in BLT since it is walkable to MK and that is huge for us.
Should I just keep CCV, book what I can at BW at 7 months and pony up for Minnie Vans to MK?
Is there is a resort thats a good compromise you think Id love and should consider over BW or BLT?

With all that said I am needing to plan a trip in a 2 bedroom for Feb 2026 so if Im buying BLT/BWV I would like to hopefully get in before 7 months hits.

One lesson I have learned and is repeated on here: buy where you want to stay. Having the 11mth booking window is great. We did something similar and bought CCV, ended up not really loving it after staying there. I sold them and bought where I want to stay so all my points are at same resort making it easy to combine points and book what I want. Happy hunting!

I own both - CCV is for our holiday trip and BWV is for Spring Break. I’ve spent most of my late childhood and adult years staying at Crescent Lake resorts and they are absolutely my favorite (BWV topping the list!) but there is something magical about CCV during the holidays.

So if you never plan to travel then, I’d buy BWV. Depending on the deal you get (and we all know you will find it!! ) and when you plan to travel, it can still make financial sense to own vs. rent.

FWIW, I’ve had no issues using my CCV points at BWV during Spring Break - but it was a studio and I was fine with P/G view. I have, on the other hand, massively struggled to get Boardwalk of Resort View at 11 months so there’s that.

We tend to book 1 BRs which are almost always available at 7 months (on the early side) especially if you don't care about view type...

Now, if we needed a 2 BR, I might have a different feeling. Personally, we may be in the minority, we love the Boardwalk location, love the restaurants and shopping. Are actually not huge fans of the hotel rooms themselves. Very small, cramped, dated, etc. That said, I love the points chart for now while we are using 1 BR units. We imagine in a few years needing to switch to 2 BRs, which I would not be eager to stay in.

But, I have a thing about needing large rooms... Which is why I prefer OKW and VGF...

Regarding the original question. This is too much money to spend on a product that isn't exactly what you want. Buy fewer points, or save up a little longer, or whatever, but I'm always flummoxed when people say "We want to stay at Boulder Ridge every year, which is why we bought lots of points at Aulani."

We know some owners who truly don't care where they stay. SSR resale points are perfect for them!

We also love the BW / BC vibe. We ended up buying Grand Floridian because it had a very similar feel to those two (plus walking distance to a park) - but with a longer expiration and lower annual dues. Seemed like the better choice economically.

Please wait until you have stayed before making this decision. Still buy your Boardwalk. We own BCV & OKW. As I wrote this we are checking out of Copper Creek to go on a Treasure adventure. Had two nights here (first stay) and it is so peaceful and gorgeous grounds. Did Hoop-Dee-Do Thursday night being so close. Took the boat each way. Even walked a bit to the meadows area/store. Took morning bus to Animal Kingdom Friday. Left room at 6am and as walked up to the bus stop, the bus pulled. We were the only ones on it. First at security and at the entrance touch points. (Thursday morning outside Magic Kingdom verified our DVC Sorcerer pass, I had purchased online. Piece of cake). So again please wait on selling until experience it and only when want to lose priority booking and that expiration year.

One thing I wished I had done before my very first DVC purchase is to have stayed at more resorts and at different times of the year. There are so many choices at WDW unlike DLR (where VGC is the clear winner, sorry VDH )

After 3 years of stays we sold our original VGF points, which we got because our first stay there was so awesome but we also didn't have much with which to compare. For MK Halloween or Christmas party nights, we just had to have BLT to walk over after midnight. Originally we didn't think we'd be doing a lot of party nights so it didn't matter as much. Also, I hadn't stayed in a theme park view room at BLT--the view of MK, Seven Seas Lagoon, and the Contemporary is really nice at night (but for me this is imbued with nostalgia and an appreciation for the CR's history as one of the original WDW resorts).

Over the 3 years we had stayed everywhere and a lot of things became clearer: didn't care to be near Disney Springs, so those resorts were out; thought we would love AKV, and while for a resort stay it was nice to have that amazing savannah view, the cons outweighed the pros for us; CCV rooms felt too small for us, we actually much prefer BRV, the refurbed rooms are so nice--but in the end I like the monorail loop. Finally, we decided we wanted something in the EPCOT area as well. Tried BWV, BCV, and Riviera. Liked BCVs best because kids loved the pool so much. But I loved the rooms at Riviera, best on property imo. Waited a while and then the pandemic depressed prices and Riviera made a lot of sense at $155 pp and long expiration. They're basically our SAPs now, but we often use them for 1BR stays at BCV or BWVs mixed in with home resort advantage. But as I had mentioned, we're okay with 1BRs Garden view at BWVs.

Anyway, I would just at least try BCV and some others before deciding! But good luck with whatever you do!
