Can anyone who has purchased resale recently tell me how long it took from when the deed was filed until you could make a reservation? The resale agent told me 10-14 days I think, but I just called member services to check and they said 4-6 weeks. (My deed was filed about 10 days ago.). I'm anxious to get something booked ASAP because my contract has points expiring Sep 30.

Look under the thread called Closing Time. Lots of timelines posted there.

It was about a little over 2 weeks me, mine was recorded on 4/17 and I made my first reservation in the beginning of May. I tried calling to get my member number as others on here have had luck with, but was told no, and that I should be expecting 3 mailings and cm confirmed that they had been mailed out, must have been true because I did get my letter with member number about a week later and a couple more days the mailing I needed to call MS and have my account activated.

I hope that's my timeline too! Thanks for posting!

There is no real incentive for DVC to finish the ROFR in less than 30 days.

In past years, ROFR was almost immediate.. ie a week or 2.. but now, expect a full 30 days JUST FOR ROFR.

So basically, u are about 60 days at least, if ur a seller and about 90 days if ur a buyer.

My recent transaction took 64 days from submitting to ROFR to points in system. It took 18 days from Deed recorded to points in system.

On my AKV contract my deed was recorded on May 10..recd my membership packet on May 25 ....membership number on May 27. 17 calendar days after deed registered.
My BWV contract...deed registered. Aug 10 waiting for new membership number as it is a different UY.

It took me 53 days from offer (June 17) to points in account (August 9). Deed was recorded July 29. So, about 18 days from recording of deed for my points to show up in my account.

That's very fast! Our shortest one was just over 2 months, and our longest one was over 3 months (both closings occurred in the last few months). Who did you use for broker and title?

For our most recent add-on, the points showed up in our account about 14 days after deed recorded. If this is your first contract, it will take longer since you will need to wait for your membership information in the mail (unless you happen to reach a particularly helpful CM who will give you the info over the phone).

I was fortunate because sellers were really motivated to sell. In fact, their listed stated that they must sell by 6/30. Anyway, I went through **********.
