Requested renovated room at Dolphin for Dec., good chance I'll get it?

I just booked the Dolphin for 5 nights, Dec 12-17th. I know they may not be finished with renovations so I requested a renovated room. Now I am worried I may not get one. Sure would like to get a Heavenly Bed. I guess I could change it to the Swan, but from all I have read, the Dolphin seems to be best for us. Even the guy (John) that took my reservations said he recommended the Dolphin. Just want someone to tell me I probably will get a new room!

The good news is that week tends to be a slow one at Disney World. The Dolphin is a convention hotel with 1200 rooms, and I would think that the week before Christmas week would be a slow time for conventions. If you haven't already, join Starwood Preferred Guests Club at spg.com. That would help with upgrades.

I joined a few months ago, but I don't have any points yet. I booked my room with the AP discount which already gives me a level upgrade to lake view. Can you still be upgraded again just because you are a SPG member? Also, is getting a renovated room regarded as an upgrade???!! I hope not cause I have never been lucky enough to get an upgrade at any Disney resort, so I figure I won't here either. I guess to be sure I get a "heavenly bed", I should have booked the Swan, huh?
