Hi everyone....

I a new to this... Just joined this week.... We are planning a trip for September. I went online and sent in a request for a reservation. I received a note that I would be notified shortly on availability. Generally how long does it take to hear back on availability?

Thanks

I think the standard tag line is 24-48 (working) hours. The Internet request is basically a glorified email system, so it takes a human being to read your message and attempt the booking.

Most would agree that you are FAR better off just calling and speaking to a Member Services rep rather than using the web request. While I'm sure many web requests go off without a hitch, it's much easier to twist and alter your plans slightly when discussing over the phone than to leave it in the hands of an anonymous CM working from your typed notes.

DVC claims we'll have some interactive capabilities by the end of the year via the website. But the concensus is that it will probably be limited to view current point balances and historical transactions. We're still a couple years away from any sort of live on-line reservation system.

That just floors me. I have two other timeshares and an RCI membership. I can go online, deposit my week, and confirm an exchange. All this within 5 minutes online. I can't for the life of me figure out why a company like Disney can't get this done. Oh well, maybe I am just becoming way too dependent on technology. :confused3
