Renting: Adding a night w/ diff rentee

I am thinking of adding a night to my reservation. I rented points from a renter and am not sure if they have enough points to add an extra night for me. If I find someone else who I can rent from for 1 more night, same cat room etc (assuming availablity), would I be able to stay in the same room? I am assuming I could explain myself at check-in. Just curious! Thanks!

Both members would need to ask Member Services to link the reservations.

They both need to call and they both need the others reservation number. MS may not want to link them.

Finding a owner who will rent you a reservation for 1 night may be a problem. As a owner, I wouldn't do it.

I did manage to add one night on rented points on my last trip. I was lucky enough to find an owner with just enough points for one night at a resort to rent from (and they were close to expiration). But you gotta be lucky for that scenario, as most owners are looking to get rid of alot of points at one time and don't want to deal with small point rentals. I didn't get to stay in the same resort, had to move resorts. But - it turned out great! Moving went smoothly first thing in the morning and we got to check out a second resort - added it's own fun to the stay. This happened fairly last minute. I was holding a night at a value resort in case in didn't work out, so at least I knew we would have a place to stay!

Thanks for the information. I have been keeping my eye on the rental board to see if someone has low enough points left to possibly rent to me. It is not the end of the world if I can't add a day. Just something that I was considering.

I rented points to someone last year in the same situation as you. It wound up being a big pain to cooridinate the linking with MS. I doubt I'd do it again in the future. The renter ultimately was able to get the reservations linked together and stay in the same room.
