Rental Car for March

Over the past week our rates for a 5 day (weekly) rental from Alamo March 12-17 for a standard size car have come down significantly. We hit $120 with taxes and fees today using the code from our BJs membership and the $40 coupon (AD4027JDO) along with our Alamo Insider info. Oddly (or perhaps by design) I couldn't modify my existing reservation - I only received the lower rate when I started a new one.

Today I saw $95 total cost for an economy car up to $108 total cost for a full size car. SUVs and minivans are much more expensive.

Thanks a lot to you and the others who have posted about Alamo prices dropping. Yesterday I got my total cost down from $180 to $153, and now it's at $138. I hadn't realized before that that AD4027JDO coupon doesn't get factored into the price until after you select the car.

With or without the coupon, Alamo's prices using the Insider code have consistently been the lowest I've found every time I've checked since I started planning my trip in January.

You just need to go on Alamo's website and join the Insider Club...its free. With that we always get an extra driver for free.

Jealous!

I'm going the following week (March 18 - 25) and did get a good price through USAA for our car. Now the prices are higher! I can't complain, but would rather spend less $$$ of course...

Likewise! Our one week rental is up over $300! Guess we'll be happy with what we have.

I booked a mid-size with Alamo a few weeks ago for our week (March 8 to 15) at $199. I was able to rebook yesterday at $181 and now today at $163. Woo Hoo! This is using the Alamo Insiders and $40 coupon code. I did have a reservation with Budget too at $188 as that had been the best I could do, but Alamo is my company of choice and I kept checking till I found a deal with them. Pixie dust to those still waiting for their rates to drop.

Check Alamo...ASAP. I just looked for my week in March...I have no idea why I looked again but darn good thing I did. I was booked with Budget and thought the rate was not to bad.....well I just rebooked with Alamo for HALF of what I was gonig to pay Budget.

Maybe it's my dates, but I'm still gettng the lowest rates with the Budget code. When I tried this coupon on Alamo, the quote was over $160 higher. When are you travelling?

Check Alamo now...the minivan rate was $248 without any coupons or codes for 7 days. Just as a matter of curiousity I've been checking regularly since Friday night and the rates have been lower in the evening....after 8pm. I've been looking at dates that cover March break.

I just checked now - will try later again in the evening but I also checked this code a day ago when the first posts about Alamo codes came out. Are you putting a '1' in the corporate i.d. box or just the coupon code?

Every Wed I get an ALamo emial and today when I need it , nothing! What code is this? Trying to book for Mar 11-14 and rates are very high!!
