rent/transfer question

I need to rent/transfer some points for a trip next May at BWV's.....that's my home resort....

and my question is this....right now, I'm in the 11 month booking window, which I'm assuming means that I need another BWV's member to transfer me points ??

I can't get rent points from someone with Vero Beach for instance as their home resort, right ?? those points don't then magically become BW points once they're in my account ??

I'v never rented or traded before so I'm looking for someone with experience to maybe point me in the right direction....

I'm guessing I'll have to wait until I'm 7 months out to rent points and book....

Theoretically...according to the regs...transferred points are supposed to maintain the characteristics of the account they were transferred from (home resort, use year, etc.). However, there is a good bit of anecdotal information that indicates that doesn't always happen (maybe never).

To be safe, I'd rent from another BWV owner.

Jim is correct on all accounts. I have had BCV points magically turn into VWL points because they were depositied under that contract. I wasn't expecting or wanting it to happen, but it did (and it was a hassle to fix too). You may get lucky and have VB points turn into something there not, but I'd play it safe if I were you.
