Renew AP or Cheaper deal?

Hello!
We currently have annual passes that expire in June. We are planning a trip in February 2018 for probably 5-7 days. Generally speaking, would it be worth it to renew our APs for a February trip? Or would I get a cheaper deal without it?
I'm not sure if any of this matters, but we would be looking at staying at a moderate or deluxe (possibly the Dolphin if I get enough points). We do a bunch of character meals so free dining would be good for us as well.
There aren't prices out yet, but I just wanted to get the thoughts of you budget-minded folks.

If you're anticipating *free* dining, then having an AP actually works against you. But honestly, I believe that it generally does not occur in February.

IMO, it doesn't pay to renew your AP if you're planning to take one 5-7 day trip during the life of the AP. You're better off purchasing a new AP in February, take advantage of any room and dining discounts you're entitled to, and planning an additional visit before that AP expires..

I would wait until you go in February to renew but then I would do it for the discounts and the addition of the photos. That's a great benefit!

Renewals are discounted. However, you have a limited timeframe during which you can purchase your renewal (60 days prior to the expiration up to 30 days following expiration). However, your anniversary date does not change. So, if your AP were to expire on June 1, 2017, you could pay to renew now or wait until June 30 but the renewed AP would expire on June 1, 2018.
