Trying to make a decision on whether to renew out of state AP. This is the first year in many that there is no trip planned yet. We would like the flexibility to take 2 trips in 2022 but not sure if we will. DH does not have AP since they stopped selling, so we'd likely buy 10 day PH for him for each trip. The resort, merch, and food discounts work well while there's no dining plan. My concern is if DP comes back, could we all get it, or not because we'd all have to be on same package? Pass expires in a few days so I'm thinking I have 30 days to make decision, correct? I'm also concerned with current price gouging the pass price will go up if they start selling again. Thoughts?

You can add the dining plan to a room reservation without adding tickets - APs have always been able to do it. For others, it's called a "ticketless package". If you are an AP and the dining plan comes back, best thing to do would be to book room + dining plan and then buy any other needed guest tickets separately. I'm an AP and never added the dining plan as I felt the dining discounts received with the AP outweighed any potential savings with a dining plan.

With the way they've been doing discounts, mainly AP discounts (or at least the good discounts being AP discounts by most accounts), between that and the dining discounts it's usually a better deal just to take a room only AP discount and pay for dining out of pocket with the discount. I've only ever gotten the DP once, but looking back now on what I've saved in room only AP discounts and dining discounts I can see that I've saved much more money (and saved myself some stomach aches from trying to eat all my credits) from not having the DP. You can get the DP, if they do happen to bring it back, by adding it to your room (I have a friend who is an AP who has done this many times prior to the shut down), but I personally don't think it's necessary.
