She had such a unique, adorable look. Now she could be anybody.

I will say I have seen much worse face jobs. Hers looks good, just a completely unnecessary change.

She looks pretty to me in the newer pictures that aren't just flat out unflattering photos. Any of us would look bad in an unflattering photo.

She has taken a lot of flak over the years for her face, as is evidenced by comments on this thread. I've talked about her, too, and now I feel bad. So really, who could blame her. That has to be hard on people. Plus, maybe her eyelids were starting to droop and affect her looks and vision. That happens and people end up needing surgery for it. It may not be what she had done, but that is called blepharoplasty.

She looks great but it doesn't look like Renee. I wonder how this move will affect her career.

I think she had a vulnerable look before. I'm sure she was often cast based on her unique look. Maybe she will get different types of roles?

I don't think she looks bad at all! And she didn't go for a really tight look - it looks age appropriate and natural!
While many of you (general you) liked her old look and thought that's what made her unique - maybe she never was comfortable with that look, or tired of people defining her by it. If she has the means to afford surgery and it makes her feel good about herself - why all the hate.
There are some baaaaad plastic surgeries on celebrities out there - I don't think this is bad at all!

Losing weight does not cause squinty eyes to pop wide open permanently. I liked the way she looked before. No, she wasn't a raving beauty, but her face was unique.

She used to have epicanthic folds, right? And it looks like she had them removed. I don't think that's a very complicated surgery, honestly. I know some folks who've had theirs removed as they aged because their folds got sort of droopy and it just irritated them.

(Note: I know, a lot of people think these fold only occur in Asians, but they show up in other populations sometimes. Renee's mom is Norwegian I think, and if I'm not mistaken, the descendants of Vikings do sometimes have this. There's a ethnic group where I'm from that my mom is related to, distantly, and the folds show up a lot in this group; so, as part of geneaological research, I've read some ethnographic articles about the subject and the distribution of epicanthic folds.)

ETA: I really don't see it as that big of a deal. Just me, though.

My first thought: who is she ????

I always thought she was such a pretty woman, she had ... something, I liked about her.

Now she looks, weird, I don't recognize her at all.

She's 44 after all. The "cute and adorable" ship has sailed. I don't think she looks unnatural at all, just not really like I remember her. But I haven't seen her in anything for many years. I might not recognize her now anyway.
